I love all their post hiatus stuff, but I completely agree on the production part. Patrick always sounds great, but there was a weird touch to his vocals since SRAR and I'm not sure what. Compression maybe? He just sounds much cleaner on the new singles.

i imagine the end of that video is teasing something, but a pop-up stadium gig at Banc of California Stadium (where they end up at the end of the clip) would be truly wild, haha.

corrected the original comment, I saw wrong and they ended up at Banc of California Stadium at the end of the video, not SoFi.

I still hear some annoying studio artifacts on Patrick's vocals on this new material, but thankfully both songs are very strong....two in a row is major lol

IDk, as an extremely casual fan, these sound a lot more like "old" fall out boy to me compared to the singles off their last few albums. Again though very casual fan and the only songs I could identify from the last three albums if you asked me to right now are Centuries and Light Em Up

I could see Heartbreak being on SRAR or Mania, but Love sounds much closer to pre-hiatus stuff and I love that. 2/2 bangers not been this excited for a FOB record since the hiatus.

These new songs definitely have more "realistic" sounding drums than AB/AP and MANIA which relied on electronic one-shots on almost every song. Also the guitars are playing more power-chords as opposed to single note riffs and triads.

But yeah, overall songwriting and production? Still sounds like modern Fall Out Boy, which is fine.

Totally agree. There are a lot of similar motifs etc like the guitar after the chorus during the woah oah part of the new single. Except this time its played or at least led by a guitar rather than a novelty sounding sample as per the previous 3 albums (see Uma Thurman).

    Man, Heartbreak sounds fantastic.

2/2 but I dig this one more than Love From the Other Side.

Regardless of what they “sound” like, it seems that an overwhelming manority of fans have really liked both singles. Excited for the album!

  20. This is solid. The chorus doesn't hit like the one from Love From The Other Side, but that may change after I spend more time with it. I don't remember the title but the opening synths reminded me of one of the short MANIA demos.

I don’t think post hiatus fall out boy was as far off as what they did on IOH and folie as most people say, especially SRAR and mania, I mean “Wilson” is basically a folie song with late 10’s production. So yeah these songs may have some “old” FOB DNA within them but so have a lot of modern era FOB songs

  23. Wilson and Last of the Real Ones are very IOH
