Fall Out Boy - MANIA (Jan 19, 2018) Album • Page 78

  1. Going back to SRAR it’s crazy how people thought it was all plug ins and no real instrumentation. There are obvious drum fills everywhere and Where Did The Party Go probably has Pete’s most memorable bass line since Dance Dance

Really enjoyed listening to this record right out of the gate, there are some parts that im not the biggest fan of, like some of the more cliche lines. But its a solid album overall.

OH no, idk, just something about them jumps out about them, as to where there are plenty of witty lines that they've had over the years that you had to really pay attention to be like oh man. The flow just seems not be as smooth for me personally.

I remember really disliking Folie when it came out and in the past few years every time I listen to it I’m just like “what was I thinking, this is incredible”?

So yeah, listening to Folie right now and remembering how much I like this band lol

  9. Folie is definitely the most timeless of their albums

I feel like one of five people that loved Folie immediately lol. Not only that but I don’t think it took me very long to claim it as my favorite.

A modern mainstream band (outside of FOB) would never make a song like Stay Frosty. Fuck the haters, like what you like ppl

Finally listening to the album on vinyl

"Church" finally clicked in my head, this is a pretty damn good record

Hearing this split into side A and Side B, vs groupings per the first 4, church & Heavens Gate, then the back 4 really changed my perspective. This album, structurally, is their best of the Post-hiatus albums. There’s an ebb and flow that they haven’t achieved since Folie. Many people may not emotionally agree, but the sequencing makes sense to me. If it doesn’t for you? No worries, the band took the chance because they believed in it. And there should be some respect in that, whether you like it or not

The wonderful sequencing of this album makes me so stressed that I assume the average person streaming it doesn’t know about the tracklist thing

i swear the way patrick sings "these are the last blues, yeah" in the beginning of the last chorus of Bishops Knife Trick is the closest thing i've ever had to spiritual experience

I honestly think if this album was their followup to Folie and they never went on hiatus nobody would have batted an eye

Like I like SR&R a lot but this is the most "FOB" any of the post-hiatus albums have felt for me

Yeah, SRAR is still the best post-histus album, but hey, I'm happy for y'all who enjoy this album

This is probably the best post-hiatus album, or at least I expect I’ll think so with some more time. AB/AP is easily the worst, though.

I think I like the verses, pre-choruses, and bridges on this album as a whole more than the choruses. There are also a lot of lyrics here that I’m especially not fond of, which has just kinda been more of a thing with their post-hiatus stuff for whatever reason. I mean, they’ve always had lyrics that I’ve found poor or cringe-y, but something about some of the writing on the last three albums has felt especially so, to me. Idk.

Drinking some bourbon at the start of this album and hitting the middle when you’re tipsy is such great pacing whoooooo

I def dig the first four songs but Church onwards (minus Champion) is so clearly the best chunk of the album for me.

Also Young and Menace is so fucking awesome, especially in context.
