And in the hypothetical matchup between Petal and Map Change I would still go with Petal.

I won't lie, I'm a huge fan of Coin. I remember when they released it as a single after the amazing FPU album had dominated my metal music for the past year and a half I was so pumped on it. It's been my favorite for a while. BUT, having revisited Petal and getting more familiar with the lyrics because of this bracket, I totally get it.

Coin. Petal is phenomenal but the lyrics of Coin are also excellent, and musically the track is perfect.

ETID keep posting old tour posters from way back. 8, 10, 15 years ago. I wonder if they are just feeling nostalgic or are they leading to something?

Hmm...Hot Damn! is 14 years old, The Big Dirty is 10 years old and New Junk Aesthetic is years old...I know that doesn't quite sync up with 8, 10, and 15 though. I don't think they've ever played any full album shows, at least not to my knowledge. I wonder if there's any chance of that?

"8,10,15" years were just numbers I threw out there. Their last post specifically said 15 years. Don't remember what their previous ones said.

Map Change would've got my vote in the final if it had made it.

I think I'd prefer to see ETID play a mixed set rather that album shows when they've got a back catalogue as good as theirs. Still if they do end up playing some album shows that'd be cool, might mean a few older songs make it back in the set for normal shows.

I wouldn't mind seeing an album show or two at this point. Their setlists really haven't varied too much in the past few years really (except for adding songs from their newest album and removing songs from their previous album) so this would be a good chance to see some deep cuts.

I'm still pretty surprised that they played INRIhab on their latest tour though - I didn't expect that.

Alright everyone, I'm going with the run rule on this one. Even if the rest of the group comes in and votes that has previous rounds, Petal will take it.

    LOW TEENS FINAL ROUND:

    The Coin Has A Say - 2
    Petal - 15

This means Petal is our first song to join the Championship round. From Parts Unknown will be up shortly.

    <--- ETiDiscography Tournament --->

Before this tournament of voting for the best songs from one of the greatest heavy bands to ever grace the earth kicks off, we have to cover some of the typical ground rules ladies and gents. I will repost the following and keep up with score updates as often as possible until we have narrowed it down to one.

As always, all participants should be respectful and considerate of opposing opinions/votes. These tournament brackets are meant to be inclusive and fun for everyone. Open discussion on all rounds and votes is encouraged! In order for your votes to count, you must vote on every match-up in the round. Also, to make it fair across the board, no changing votes once yours are posted. Round lengths will range from a minimum of 10hrs to 24hrs, pending run rules and average voters each round of course. I will be keeping score daily and confirming votes via likes. We will work our way backwards through their discography, starting with Low Teens through to a round of Bonus Tracks released by the band, and then ending with a Championship round. (We will skip over Burial Plot Bidding War EP as the band would probably encourage us to do so anyways.)

In order to avoid an uneven Championship round, as well as to keep things interesting, we'll have a Wild Card round between the 8 LP runner-ups for a spot in the finals. Byes are unfortunately necessary in some cases, but all brackets are randomly generated and I will sit out voting unless a tie breaker is required.

    Championship Round Choices:
    (
    Low Teens) Petal
    (
    From Parts Unknown)
    (
    Ex-Lives)
    (
    New Junk Aesthetic)
    (
    The Big Dirty)
    (
    Gutter Phenomenon)
    (
    Hot Damn!)
    (
    Last Night In Town)
    (
    Bonus Tracks)
    (
    Wild Card)

    <--------------------------------->

This begins the start of Every Time I Die's 7th full length album, From Parts Unknown (2014). This album is a relentless gut punch created in the vein of all those who doubted the bands ability to keep the tenacity they were known for. Jordan said he wanted people to know they still had it, and went into writing with the mindset to push the limits and show people that Every Time I Die was far from done. It's my second favorite album, so vote for my favorite songs. :)
