    Newbie

I hadn't followed these guys in many years (since their Ferret days, no real reason for falling out) until a friend said they were breaking up after one last album and I thought to dig into the rest of their discography, which I'm really enjoying. Before I really started this project I gave myself, I realized this friend had confused Every Time I Die with Dillinger Escape Plan. They don't sound alike at all, but I get it. Hopefully Every Time I Die sticks around now that I'm a fan again. R.I.P. Dillinger Escape Plan.

I like the songs released from the new album. C++ is probably my least favorite of them though.

I hear "Don't let a missed exit haunt you", could be either I suppose!

I'm also realizing what I think Keith means about the 'tearing his universe apart' thing and it's so heavy that I can't even type it out. And the song title oh shiiiiiittt

Damn, heavy stuff. The song is fantastic, the back story definitely helps my understanding of it. Thanks for sharing.

Absolutely! Glad it could give more insight to the lyrics!

I had seen some people, not here, criticizing the lyrics for being more straight forward then most ETID lyrics. But I think they are perfect.

    c++ is a programming language

probably referring to the machines in the song (in the hospital) i would guess

Another phenomenal song. The 1st half is solid, but the 2nd half of the song is unreal. I had a very, very small taste of what Keith went through earlier this year (although my situation was thankfully much less dire and severe) where for about 3 hours I had no idea whether my girlfriend was in serious danger or not, so all of these lyrics cut right through me. I think the whole "universe" section might be my new favorite ETID lyrics. And that riff... goddamn.

This record is going to fucking rule.

I've racked up probably 30 plays on this today. This album can't come soon enough!

Shit, could this end up being their best album? All of these new tracks are superb.

Okay I know very little about this subject but I'm curious and I have a feeling someone here will have an idea...

I read somewhere that Jordan started writing solos and stuff for the first time on this album, is that him whaling away on C++ or is that still Andy?

edit: and any tips on how to figure out who's who on my own are also appreciated :crylaugh:

  16. I have no idea how to tell them apart.

I always thought Andy wrote the riffs. So maybe Jordan gets some shine on this record?

  18. They both write the riffage. They each come in with their own song ideas.

I've always been a little confused about Jordan and Andy's guitar roles in the band. Andy usually describes himself as the lead guitarist, but Jordan seems to play all of the solos live. Not that it really matters; they're both riff masters.

Got a King's Road email with subject line 'Digital download for Low Teens LP', lost my mind, then realized it's just C++.

    Dicks.

So kinda cool story, I got one of my close friends into ETID yesterday.

I was listening to The Big Dirty, as you do, and "We'rewolf" was on so he wanted to listen. I explained to him the concept of the song, how Keith uses the metaphor of a werewolf transformation with becoming a "party animal" and the narrators life kind of bottoming out from that, and he was like "wow that's really cool and clever". Then we listened to "Champing At The Bit" and then "Ebolorama" and he was sold. I've never seen someone get so excited over a song the way he got over Ebolorama. The rest of the night he kept saying "THIS IS A ROCK N ROLL TAKEOVER". I was so happy.

Ebolarama is one of the greatest songs ever written.

Thanks for sharing your story, always good to get new fans on board

It is definitely top 3 for me. I remember when I used to play in a band, during soundchecks, i would play that riff and people would go crazy.
