Pelican, Overstayer, If There’s Room To Move, Idiot, Saturnalia and A Strange Loop all have a case for best breakdown they’ve done which is fucking insane

Overstayer breakdown is sick because it sounds like Breather Resist.

 

one day at work my headphones came unplugged from my phone and saturnalia blared throughout the my office. everyone now thinks im satan.

 

I played my girlfriend (a known hater of “screamy music”) 15 seconds of Idiot, after showing her It Remembers (she’s a big Panic! fan). She was horrified. Needless to say seeing them with Fall Out Boy will be fun.

I did that with DEP once while my iPod was charging on a dock at work. It was loud and chaotic as hell.

 

I played DEP to break down a song for my intro to music theory final in college and that was a trip for all but the 2 people in the class who knew them hah

 

Listened to FPU at the gym today and it worked

Got my copy of Watch with the Hellp counterpart! Once I finish Scale, I'm excited to dive into Watch

 

Got my copies today as well. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it seems like Hellp is arranged in the order Keith wrote the lyrics. There’s definitely a more distinct narrative leading from despair to hope. Plus I like that the bonus tracks are included.

 

Me: *ranting to my girlfriend this morning via text about a particularly annoying start to the day*

Her: well guess what? I love you!

Me: I can’t stay here knowing love is not enough

She does not know the lyric, which I knew already, so I got a “yikes” in return but the laugh I had to myself was very relieving

There are going to be so many horrified parents at the Fall Out Boy shows haha. Bummed the Middle East show sold out so quick but I’m not surprised.

Personal favorite ETID offense:

Warped Tour 2008, they had just finished playing We’rewolf. The band takes a moment to tune and Keith says “during that last song as I looked out over you all spinning around, I saw two dragonflies meet midair and start fucking above the pit. That’s when you know your shit’s good, when you’ve got nature fucking to it.”

*Mom with a backpack promptly moves her son and his friends away from their viewing range* and says “Never again, I can’t believe you convinced me to bring you here.”
