New Junk holds a special place in my heart because it was my first full record by them. Love that album

Same. I was a casual fan before New Junk, but that album really pulled me in. It has a bit of a stoner rock vibe to it, all the riffs just sound so heavy and dense. It lead me to go back and dive into the rest of the discography and I've been hooked ever since.

  4. Yeah, New Junk feels like a really unique transition between some of the melodic Big Dirty stuff and the thrashier moments on Ex-Lives

I got into them with “The New Black.” Always enjoyed everything when they first got released and saw them at Warped a bunch. Didn’t really become a fan until From Parts Unknown.

for christmas this year, I would like for someone to send the Gutter Phenomenon recording stems to Kurt Ballou for a proper remix/remaster please and thank you

I've grown to love the production on GP even though I know it's not great. Something about that guitar tone just feels like a buzzsaw. I'd love for them to play Pretty Dirty just ONCE live too.

My rankings would be very much influenced by production. If they could re-record The Big Dirty and earlier albums with the same sound Radical and other recent releases have, it'd be impossible for me to rank everything. There are some songs I love on early albums that just don't sound great to me.

Give me Pigs is Pigs and We'rewolf in 2021 and I'll throw 'em on loop forever.

Gutter Phenomenon is near the bottom of my ranking because of the production as well. It would thrive with the same production as The Big Dirty. The production on Big Dirty really makes the riffs shine and that's what's missing on GP.

Wanderlust was my favorite ETID song before these two most recent albums.

I got into them with Gutter Phenomenon, but it doesn't hold up as well due to the production. I also never could get that into Hot Damn because the vocals were rough

Everything since those has been great. The ones that have stood out most to me are The Big Dirty, Ex Lives, and Radical

Kurt Ballou's production on From Part Unknown is perfect. That albums sounds like a hardcore show at a dirty dive bar in the best way. That being said, Low Teens and Radical would be worse albums if they had the same production as FPU and vice versa.

Far as production, Big Dirty sounds pretty nice to me in my very limited time with it haha.

I will admit that the production on Gutter definitely lacks big time but the songs sure don’t.

Every page or two, the production on Gutter is mentioned.... i definitely don't hear any problems with it. Just fuckin' blast it, lol.

  20. My 2 cents... had no idea who they were until I was 15 and the Coin Has a Say came out... I split their catalog into 2 sections: everything-exlives and then everything after ex lives

  21. New Junk Aesthetic is kinda the transition point for me, in terms of classic ETID and new ETID (which also happens to be classic ETID)

  22. I actually kind of agree... huge jump in mixing/production quality compared to The Big Dirty. I think NJA was the first record where they really sounded as big as they did live

I split it the way I do because I listen to the last 3 records immensely more than anything off the prior albums, and I love every ETID album

  23. Also Will Putney is the GOAT... this is the first record in a while (ever?) where they haven't switched producers from the last album. I think Will did a better job this time around giving the record more of the band's personality. Low Teens was mixed a little too modern for them.
