So they used to all be friends and do drugs together and then after River and Chris died he’s held some sort of grudge against Keanu? For…what reason exactly?

  19. Just read a bunch of 1 star reviews of Barbarian on Letterboxd “for fun” and it’s so funny/annoying how pretentious people can be in their movie reviews. Ughhhh.

They can both be right. Animation is indeed its own fully-fledged medium, but the CEO is likely correct (I’m not going to bother trying to find stats) that most adults will gravitate towards live action entertainment. We don’t need to gin up controversy over everything.

As animation grows its demographic grows. More adults are watching animation today than were 20 years ago and in just another 5-10 years I bet that number grows. Think about the animation landscape when the Simpsons premiered in 1989, vs when Family Guy and South Park premiered, vs today. How much animated Star Wars content do adult fans consume?

In the specific context of parents, yeah they probably aren’t booting up Tangled after they put the kids to bed, but the way execs talk about art always betrays how limited their view of art is, which is always concerning when they’re in charge of producing art.
