I actually think it's pretty cool to see how genuinely good of an actress Maude Apatow has become since she was a kid in Knocked Up and Funny People

 

Heaven Knows What is on MUBI right now. It is an early Safdie brothers film. It is worth watching.

Watched the final episode of Arthur.

The final reveal that Arthur grows up to become the guy who creates the Arthur franchise is some real meta stuff for a show for 4 year olds.

 

If your local AMC is showing the restoration of The Godfather this weekend, go see it. It is still the masterpiece you remember but every time I watch it it becomes richer, more deep, and more emotionally taxing. It is arguably the best mainstream American film.

I've got tickets for it tonight, assuming my theater opens up, we've had weather issues the last couple of days. I've never seen it before!

 

I was able to see Part II in theaters 11 years ago and it really helped to contextualize the blacks that Gordon Willis is sometimes criticized for when people watch it on a CRT television through a VHS tape or basic cable. The offices of both movies figuratively descend into darkness, juxtaposed with the bright sunny skies of the party scenes in each film.
