More than any director, I miss the old Sofia Coppola. Her run from The Virgin Suicides to Somewhere was so strong but she doesn't really seem to know what to do next.

 

I need to watch more of her work. To date I've only seen Lost in Translation and Marie Antoinette.

I’ll give him Shang-Chi. That was fantastic. But Venom 2 is unforgivable.

I'd started The Beguiled a while ago but it just felt so bland and lifeless compared to everything else she's done

Venom 2 was exactly the stupid fun I signed up for. But yeah it was pretty bad.

Titane was fantastic.

 

Yeah Venom 2 was bad. Better than the first one but that really isn't saying much.

 

venom 2 was more fun than the majority of the mcu movies. at least it was self aware about what it is, whereas those movies always try to be “this is our parallax view or chinatown” and dumb shit like that

 

Venom 2 is technically an MCU movie and as an MCU movie I'd really only rank The Incredible Hulk under it. Maybe Thor 1.

 

I haven't seen Venom 2 yet, but I really disliked the first one. I'll still probably check the sequel out once it's out for streaming

It’s honestly wild that Road House is always referred to as like “so bad it’s good”. It’s a genuinely good 80s action/comedy, and the parts that people mock are, 99% of the time, supposed to be funny

 

I mean, those two guys seem not a bad fit to the material

I will add that the original Road House I never saw until my early 30s



It would have been a prime movie for me to see as a kid.

 

I worked on the blu-ray release of Road House, a 2-disc collector's edition with a TON of bonus features.... we sell a lot of copies of it, haha

 

I still haven’t seen it

 

hope the original isn’t one of those things where that ship has sailed

 

It is endlessly watchable. I leave it on every time I see it on tv
