I don’t know much about CinemaSins, but that comic doesn’t match up with what I thought they were. I would have said they were more like, “That phone model didn’t exist the year this was set, therefore none of the themes matter and the whole movie is a joke.” Is that wrong or am I missing something else about their criticism?

 

Yeah you're right. CinemaSins is basically the worst possible version of head-up-the-ass logical nitpicking.

The CinemaSins guy says he does it as a joke? What is the joke? It’s not like he’s making fun of pedants, he’s just being a pedant. Like, the “sins” he points out aren’t technically incorrect or anything. They’re just a waste of time to point out.

The self-righteous pats on the back straight people give themselves for this shit is so exhausting and insulting. More often than not, if they didn’t insist on handing themselves trophies they hand made people would let it go. And then everyone gets distracted when watching the movie because “...that’s it?” and the cycle of it all honestly makes me feel like a mole in whac-a-mole
