What honestly are the five best 2020 Oscar eligible movies so far?

    Never Rarely Sometimes Always
    The Invisible Man
    First Cow

...what else? Seriously. Bad boys for life maybe?

This doesn’t make sense for like...ten different reasons. The biggest being they the mutations of COVID have been very slow and thus good for vaccine developers. Ugh this is like “10% of the brain” levels of moronic.

Next year’s Oscars would be the perfect time to recognize Portrait of A Lady on Fire because France was too dumb to nominate it

Yeah can’t believe Tom Kenny would do that new Spongebob spinoff. Would feel very weird going against my deceased show runners wishes. Unless it’s some sort of contractual thing.

  17. Hmm, local theater near me is reopening in early June. No idea what they're even going to play.

The local theater used to do a few classic movies, but it seemed like it was just a Blu-Ray disc blown up on the screen.

The biggest thing I miss about living in LA and Chicago were the multiple theaters dedicated to properly showing older films. Shoutout New Bev, Siskel Film Center, and the Music Box.

In Detroit, the Redford Theater is incredible, but geared more for obvious classics most of the time.

  23. Tigertail is my favorite movie so far in 2020. Haven't seen Never Rarely Sometimes Always or First Cow, both of which I heard good buzz about. I've been using the past couple months to watch older, notable movies from the past few decades that I've never seen.

It's far down on the list of priorities but the fact that our theaters closed before First Cow was released here drives me crazy. I would pay more than $20 to rent it

i'd give at least ten bucks to every faculty member of whatever theater to let me pay to see that movie on the big screen by myself
