May I suggest What The Flick?! ? It's probably the only film criticism channel on Youtube that features actual professional film critics, and not just some film buff with a camera.

Their panel for film reviews usually consists of Alonso Duralde (The Wrap), Christy Lemire (formerly of RoberEbert.com), Ben Mankiewicz (Turner Classic Movies), and Matt Atchity (Editor-in-chief of Rotten Tomatoes)

  5. I was just thinking, people were boycotting the Ender's Game movie because of some homophobic shit Orson Scott Card was saying, but IIRC, once that law was passed he basically said "Welp, the law's the law" and has since shut up about it. So like, is it still worth being mad about? (Can we please, please, please get a live-action Speaker for the Dead?)

I can accept that Woody Allen is a shitty person and still want to watch Cafe Society, right?

Didn't people complain about the Hobbit movie, which had a much lower framerate than 120?

If someone was going to watch King of the Hill, what is the "golden age", or did it ever drop in quality?

I'd watch it straight through, IMO. I don't believe there's a dip. Earlier eps might show the same struggles as most first season sitcoms, but all is quality. I should do a watch

I liked the first season but yeah, it takes a minute to get its footing. You can't go wrong with 2-8.

  14. Gotham and The Walking Dead are trying to kill me this week. First Glenn, then Jamie Chung's character gets shot? Does every token Asian character have to be treated so poorly? Jamie Chung is just like "Man, Once Upon a Time isn't giving me enough to do, and it wrote me out of two potential romances. Maybe I'll have better luck on Gotham. ...Fuck."

Isn't The Walking Dead just generally racist all around?

Okay, yeah, TWD has been pretty shitty to its POC characters. It's been pretty shitty to everyone. It's a zombie apocalypse show, death comes with the territory. I don't know the actual count, so hypothetically, even if the same amount of black characters and white characters die, since there is a smaller number of black characters, each black character's death feels more significant. Glenn is the first and only major Asian character to die, because Glenn is the first and only major Asian character on the show. Since I am Asian, his death affects me more than if I wasn't.Aside from all this, I wouldn't call the show itself racist save for a couple of characters who are long gone. If anything, a post-apocalyptic show like this one only shows that there's no place for racism when you need help from anyone you can trust in order to survive. There have been multiple interracial relationships on the show, which is a big deal when you consider its reach.

I have never seen it. I have seen it described as racist and violent for the sake of violence, though.

Wasn't Glenn only killed in the comics because the writer got tired of writing for a character he felt was done better on TV?

Yeah, he talked about that somewhere recently. It was either in the Reader's Letter section or his recent appearance in Comedy Bang Bang, I can't recall. He could have been joking.

I've grown less and less interested in Toy Story as they make more sequels. always enjoyed the Incredibles, though, so I'm looking forward to that.

I thought Toy Story 3 was a great way to end the trilogy so that confuses me.
