I think Dickinson is the only Apple+ show I have any interest in. And it’s good! And fucking weird!

I don't know anything about any of the Apple shows.

 

None of these Apple shows look good to me.

 

I just finished watching all the pilots and Dickinson is the only one I’d even consider continuing to watch.

So I’m gonna keep stanning for Dickinson and I’ll say Steinfeld is definitely on Edge of 17 mode but, you know...poetry. Also Wiz Khalifa as Death is either the dumbest or most inspired casting of all time.

All of the sub-categories, like best foreign film or best animated film or best documentary, is a suggestion that those are not "real" films that can compete with regular films, which to the Academy are World War II dramas directed by Stephen Daldry.

Avengers isn't even the most successful film. When you adjust for inflation, it isn't in the top tier, and if you adjust for population increases and emerging markets for films, it falls even further.

This is why the superhero movie is so problematic. People will respond with "it's just dumb fun", but many people aren't watching them that way. They are only engaging with this type of surface-level material.
