Chris Stuckmann has to be the worst "critic" in movies right now.

 

He's an argument against YouTube critics as a whole.

 

Youtube recommends his videos to me once in a while, and he is always mugging for the screen in his thumbnails. It is irritating.

YouTube should be an incredible platform for a new type of review format, especially when you review older films and you can show clips interspersed with what you are talking about. However, there are only a handful of people who have done really interesting things with the format. Red Letter Media is probably the most consistently great, but even then they mostly talk about mass market films.

I think I need to start keeping a list of shows and the days they air. I'm screwed without cable/time.

 

The TYT affiliated " What the Flick?! " has been my go to film/tv critic channel on youtube for awhile. They can come across a bit snobbish for some people's tastes, but i definitely prefer to hear the opinions of actual published professional critics over just some movie buff with a camera like Chris Stuckmann and Jeremy Jahns.

 

Watched Alex Gibney's most recent doc " Zero Days " and it was absolutely terrifying. Definitely going to be up there with Weiner in the Oscar race for Best Original Documentary Feature.

 

@popdisaster00 there should be a weekly discussion about story/CYOA games. and maybe TV vs film as narratives

 

We have pretty much ignored gaming discussions so I'm down for that!

That they did. Those are the easiest to get though.

 

I didn't see the rest haha. I just assumed if it was horrendous it got the big ones wrong.

 

Pretty much everything else is way off base haha

 

The mere fact that Rectify isn't on that list but Real Time is...yeah

 

Deadwood belongs in any top three consideration. Usually people fall into two categories: people who place it in the top three and people who have not seen it.

 

For me, Deadwood isn't better than any of those 5 shows.

 

has anyone had dvds from netflix ship on the same day but arrive on different days? either that happened or my roommate took one of them...

 

I have not had the mail service in a long time, but this happened sometimes with older/more obscure movies where it had to be shipped from a different national station.

 

Forgot about the mail service. Man, I need to pick that back up. Actually wait, can anyone tell me if AT&T tracks torrents?
