Tom Hooper gotta be in the conversation

 

Tom Hooper comes to mind, but I remember liking The Damned United. Emerald Fennell has only made two films, but she only just started.

 

Sadly, the average person would probably agree.

 

There are some lousy filmmakers that still manage one or two solid films, usually earlier in their careers. David O Russell and David Gordon Green’s filmographies are awful, but I remember liking Three Kings and The Fighter from the former, although I don’t know if they hold up. George Washington from the latter is excellent.

 

There are obviously some shit movies in Reitman’s pocket but come on

 

I've seen the first four films he directed, and Tully, and I liked all of them except Thank You for Smoking, and only because I can't remember anything about it. Maybe his later output hasn't been as good, obviously I wouldn't know, but as a whole I don't think his filmography can possibly be so bad it's the worst

 

Thinking that Reitman has the worst filmography is just ludicrous. Did someone who hasn't seen movies make that tweet?

 

Which of his movies are at least okay?

 

Sometimes I still think of David Gordon Green based on his first few movies but now he has made way more bad than good.

I give more points for good than I take away from bad because good can be rewatched and enjoyed and discussed while you only have to suffer through the bad once. Tim Burton has made so many bad movies in the last twenty years or so but we will always have those early films.

 

Uwe Boll hasn’t released a single movie that wasn’t complete shit. So I guess I win.

 

I don’t know where else to post this so sorry if this freaks anyone out buuuut

98 year old Dick Van Dyke cancelled his appearance as a presenter at an award show last week. And today it was announced that he cancelled his appearance at our SLC Comic Con which is next weekend.

Anyway, doesn’t bode well

 

It would not freak me out at this point if he’s having health problems or nearing the end of his life. He’s had a tremendously long, blessed life and has seemingly had his wits and talent intact the entire time.

 

i think you could try to make an argument that reitman is the worst generally respected director who still gets to be allowed to make whatever movies he wants but even then david o. russell is right there

 

Russell might be worse now but he still made Three Kings and I Heart Huckabees, which are both better than anything Reitman has ever done.

I think a lot of people are forgetting just how far Reitman's career fell before he crawled into mindless studio work with the Ghostbusters films. No one even saw The Front Runner.
