Once the repetetive traveling ended I got super duper mega bored and the fight / battle sequences were not captivating to me

I thought the first third was fine. Just establishing the story or whatever. Totally agree with the last 3rd. Too simplistic of an end for me.

Yeah, first 3rd was definitely setting the stage, it just didn't quite pull me in for a while

I've been noticing retailers marking the list price on new bluray releases as $39.99, with the actual sale price typically bring around $25. I've never paid more than that $25 and barring special releases (collectors editions, Criterion, etc) I don't think I'd ever shell out $40

All a game to try and make it seem like a deal. Manufacturing a blu-ray probably costs less than $0.02 a boxed product. CD's are down to less than $0.005.

Seeing Kirsten Dunst believably play a mother of a large child made me feel real old today.

Usually I'm surprised how long ago nostalgia stuff is, but that movie being 15 years old totally makes sense haha

I don't know if I ever saw the movie but I had the soundtrack

The movie got slammed for two reasons: 1. Sexism (it was called a "girl movie" and there were a ton of very misogynistic reviews that came out around it) and 2. People didn't get it. It's so deeply satiric that a lot of people took it for surface value and thought that it was trying to be what it was actually commentating on

I really hope American Dreams ends up on Netflix at some point. I miss that show so much

Hey everyone, I play this game called Fantasy Movie League, which Matthew Berry of ESPN created. You get a budget to spend and you can pick out different movies to fill out a pretend cinema. It's sort of like Hollywood's version of Fantasy Football. The person whose cinema makes the most money at the weekend box office wins. I set up a league for Chorus.fm if anyone wants to try it out.

The second half of the Spring Season starts Friday at Noon EST. At that point, your screens lock for the weekend, and we see who makes the most money. It's completely free to play, the winner gets nothing but bragging rights, but if you want to play you just have to click below and use the password "absolutepunk"

    Join Fantasy Movie League!

Also, if you win the week overall, you get like a 25 dollar fandango gift card, and they also have raffles for like T-shirts and stuff. I think it could be a fun thing to do as a community.

Cool. Thanks for joining all. It's a little bit intimidating to start up at first, but it definitely gets fun and addicting in the same way that regular fantasy sports does. Hope you guys enjoy playing.

    Takes a Bit More

I think reading is still considered entertainment. Anyway I found this on imgr and thought it was worth posting as a neat but sad little story. There is no general "what are you reading" type thread so I'll drop it here. It's kind of teen novel/perks of being a wallflower-esque I guess. Someone screenshot it off 4chan.

    EDIT: Sorry about the embed.
