May was, once again, quite the stacked month.



However, these three boxsets were easily the highlight of the month due to the majority of the eighteen films included ranging from enjoyable to some of my favorites of the year so far all the while they are beautifully packaged with the superb artwork being a real treat to see.

 

I can play 4K blu-rays now, so I bought a handful that were under $20 (except 2001, which was like $25 I think). Also got the Criterion Agnès Varda and Bruce Lee collections recently.

I haven’t seen any of Agnès Varda’s work or Apocalypse Now, but I figured they’d be safe blind buys.

 

Those 2 box sets are what I'm eyeing for the July Barnes & Noble sale! I've only seen one Varda film and loved it, very excited for more.

 

Those Indicator box sets are top notch! I am super sad I missed out on the Hammer Horror boxsets they released.

Bought it off some dude in a Facebook group for $10! Score of the month for sure.

 

Yes they are and I kind of am too but Hammer has sadly been a bit hit and miss for me in the past, so I wasn't wholly confident I'd like the majority of what was in those boxsets. Those Columbia Noir boxsets though only had one film I didn't particularly like so a massive gamble ultimately paid off. Love loads of the steelbooks you got, is that King Kong one the original film?

 

Spent way too much during June, will definitely be taking more of a break this month but regardless here is what I bought

You know how I said during July I was going to take a break, yeah well that didn't quite happen... That said the last two were birthday presents so due to that and the stupid amount of sales it wasn't quite as pricey.

 

Who put out that version of Harper? I’m hoping it’s region free…..

 

Recent pickups from the last criterion sale and some others.

I got it as part of the HMV Premium Collection which is primarily made up of the WB back catalogue, doubtful that version is available in other countries but the film on Blu-Ray should be available.

 

Yeah it’s available from Warner Archive but super bare bones. That one is beautiful.

 

Yeah, it is and so many other films come with art cards or a poster while some of them come with both. Ever since HMV nearly shut down a few years ago they have really upped their game in providing great exclusives.

 

I got so many new things lately and I want to post them all but also don't want to overload this thread...

Definitely bought a lot less this month, most likely because next month is going to be a big one with several pre-orders being released.

 

Wouldn't bother me, always enjoy seeing what others buy.

 

Got an all region player today!! Can’t wait to get some new things now and dive into the few I have.
