Wait the baron is Lady Jessica’s father, aka Paul’s Grandfather??

 

Is that something we would have gotten out of this movie or is that something you would only know from reading all the books?

 

In the book it was revealed in the scene where Paul has a trip while he and Jessica are hiding in the desert, before Duncan finds them. I don’t think even Jessica knew - it was just a part of Paul’s ability to see through time? That was also the original moment where Paul learned that Jessica was pregnant, not before the attack

In the movie it wasn’t addressed at all. I’m pretty sure the Baron acknowledging Leto as a cousin is closer to a “We’re rival royal families so we come from the same bloodline” type of thing

 

I watched this with headphones and had no problem hearing the dialogue

 

Also what was with the scene where Paul and Jessica peek on each other changing what’s going on there. Let’s explore that more

 

I haven’t seen the movie yet but from what I gather they may have been saving that reveal for Part 2

About to see this in IMAX and I’m so excited!!!

Just finished the book two days ago too

 

this was incredible. holy shit.

 

Saw this at the Alamo Big Show, it was definitely a great choice. Between the screen and the sound, it was an immersive experience. The movie feels tense as hell right from the beginning and never lets up. There is a sense of dread throughout. Though I wonder if that’s partly because I knew what was coming after reading the book.

The attention to detail in the world building was superb. The costumes, ships, architecture, and scenery really suck you into this world.

But it also felt a little lifeless. Very few characters felt distinct or unique and it kind of drags the whole thing down a level.

 

it had the most life of any blockbuster I've seen in years

 

I texted basically every friend I have to catch this as soon as possible

That was truly one of the best things I’ve ever seen on screen.

 

Incredible looking, but suffered from being part one. However give me more more more of this

 

I’ve watched this three times now. I’m currently wanting the David Lynch one for the first time.

 

All I’ll say is that it’s a good thing I was wearing a mask in the theater because my jaw was hanging open literally the entire movie. Brilliant, brilliant stuff.
