Had Firehouse today as well, decent, but New Jersey Michael's still takes it for me. And yeah the Ham at Firehouse was overpoweringly sweet.

 

Where Firehouse shines is the sauces, especially their datil pepper hot sauce which is great. I also appreciate all the craft hot sauces they have out

 

Club Supreme from Jersey Mikes is an all time chain top tier sandwhich. No cheese, sometimes no Mayo (if I want to pretend I’m healthy). Add pickles and jalapeños. Ooo boy.

The one time I had firehouse, it was really wet in a way that didn’t make sense (it was one of a bunch of sandwiches ordered for my office, so maybe not the best version). Gonna try for Jersey Mike’s this week

 

never had Firehouse and the only Charly's in NYC is in Penn Station so hard pass on that one

 

I got a side of the datil pepper sauce (it was the only hot sauce option in the app) and it was pretty good, but not spicy enough and still a little too sweet, for my personal preference (assuming they gave me the right sauce, I have no clue)

BUT they didn't have all the other hot sauces out in store any more (maybe bc of Covid)

 

Yeah it's definitely a sweet heat. I was disappointed no one on the pod got it/mentioned it

Bummer about the bottles being gone, that's a big part of their appeal for me

I order turkey subs all the time! It’s my go-to!

Turkey subs are good

I only had Jimmy Johns once but all I could taste was salt. Jersey Mikes rules and I have it winning my bracket

 

Jersey mike’s is the best but you don’t like cheese on subs so your opinion doesn’t count. Sorry.

 

You better believe I’m getting my club supreme without cheese. Best sub in the game

 

I used to go to Jimmy John's all the time in college. I always got the Beach club and was very bummed when they got rid of the sprouts

Politics aside, I don't get the hate for JJs. It's not on the level of Jersey Mike's, but still decent and the bread is possibly better.

 

I honestly prefer Jimmy John's. Mitch be Mitchin' on this episode.

Cosmic Dave's is my go to, but that's more of a NE Ohio and Vermont thing.

 

On a pure quality level, I don't think JJs is as bad as Mitch and Betsy do. I'm more in line with Wiger's opinion, although I think I like JJs less than he does/did in this episode. Like, JJs is fine, but it can't touch Jersey Mike's.

 

I'd agree mostly regarding the quality of JJs ingredients not being that much inferior to Jersey Mike's, but every time I've ever eaten at JJs, it's been like what Mitch and Betsy were saying, there's one slice of turkey and one slice of cheese... it's mostly just mayo and bread.

 

JJ is fine if it’s the only option but it’s just average and bland.

 

According to the hand holding Facebook group Mitch is racist for saying banh mis aren’t subs.
