I love how my bank charges me every month for not having a certain amount in my checking and saving. Two separate charges! :)

 

Most banks do that. Mine at least has different types that can help you avoid that (including one that is free for people under 26 like you)

Switch to Chase or join a credit union. I never pay fees.

also I think some banks still have free checking for students, not sure if you're a student or not though.
I know wells fargo did when I was a student.

credit unions are usually a good idea.

also if you qualify for USAA I don't think they have fees or requirements on $ amounts. plus ATM fees are reimbursed at the end of the month.

I checked and USAA has no minimum balance with no ATM fees for any ATM.

you have to have a family member in the military or retired from military though, so it's not open to the public.
