I think one of the things that impress me most about your writing is how versatile you are. Like “Closest”, instrumentally is total beat oriented, and i LOVE the almost 8-bit lead that happens. Then a song Like God Complex (along with like the last 3 or 4 songs, really) is totally in a different vein, yet the record is still cohesive and all works together. Also I feel like you may dig this really underground electronic artist from Edmonton from a few years back, his name was HAPPY TRENDY, don’t even know if it’s on streaming services but you totally remind me of him sometimes. And i loves his stuff. Crown, could be my favorite track. The falsetto melody is really great, very catchy. I’d love to hear the Dearest Daisy acoustic direction even more in the future too, you have a great voice with an acoustic guitar.

 

Really lack luster comments but hey haha

Oh damn this is more detailed than I was expecting. I appreciate this a lot! You can probably tell from the album that I always have to do something different on each song that I haven’t yet done haha. Closest is actually aaaaall Jake (other than the vocal stuff) so if you like that song you’d love his stuff. I’m actually going to have a semi-acoustic EP out in the next few months, in the Dearest Daisy style but a little more ambient and with some more textures (followed by a completely different sounding album)

It’s basically written already but I haven’t started recording it yet. Aiming for early April for release

Discovering this on your own, even when you’re happy and “feeling in love,” is such a liberating and empowering feeling.
