Am I the only one who listens to the Covers album?

 

Absolutely not. They have the best covers.

 

WP, DE, or S/T are my fav here lately I'm more inclined to DE but theyre all great

 

"Xenon" is such a good song.

 

I always group it together with Pittura mentally but it's so much better

 

I listen to their B-Sides and Rarities album pretty regularly.

 

Honestly the b-sides version of Be Quitet may be the better version. It’s gets me super emotional every time. Even more bizarre given the fact it apparently has a connection to Adam Sandler, and Little Nicky lol

 

Always had a big soft spot for Savory on that album.

 

Been listening to SNW a lot this week. I’ve mentioned it before, but that album just fucking does things to me. So nostalgic

 

"acid hologram" is the truth

 

SNW, DE, and KNY are otherworldly to me. Everything else is great too, but those three really wow me and get returned to more than any.

 

I still haven’t listened to Gore lol w00ps

It's unfortunate that Gore is merely a good album in a fantastic discography

Gore is real good but I think it’s my 2nd least favorite of the last 6.

 

I would feel like anything after Adrenaline is interchangeable in a top 3

 

Everything from WP on has been stellar imo with the exception of SNW, and even then I might need to revisit that one. Wasn't blown away by it and haven't listened to it in a long time.

 

Ranking feels silly for this band most times because while Gore would be towards the bottom of their discog, it has some of their best stuff. Acid Hologram and Gore are insane

 

Nothing touches the Terry Date Big 3™️ for me. ATF through S/T has some of the best sounding heavy music of all time. Chino’s voice alone on those albums sets them apart from any of their peers.


Let’s also not forget that Abe is one of the best metal drummers of the last several decades. Goddamn I love this band.

 

I'm putting together a mix cd (i know, i know...) for a friend and want to include a recent era deftones song. He doesn't listen to a lot of this style of music so I don't want anything too intimidating. What would people rec? I'm leaning towards Butcher or something like that.
