I think No Sunlight is my least favorite

 

Do not see how this is possible

 

No Sunlight and Talking Bird are my two least favourites on Narrow Stairs but neither would be in the running for least favourite overall.

 

Song is awful, high five

 

I've always preferred this version:

 

Talking Bird is one of their best songs

 

No Sunlight is one of their best songs

 

I'm surprised people feel so strongly about either of those songs, haha. They're both kind of mediocre imo.

 

I didn't care for Talking Bird until I heard it on really good loud speakers. The walls of noise Chris Walla coaxes out of his archtop are just so beautiful in that song, a lot of the appeal of the track is production and sound.

 

As far as No Sunlight, think of it like the early Beatles wrote it haha. It may seem like a cheesy song in modern context but I think the point of the song was to take influence from like, 60s flower pop haha.

 

I love No Sunlight too. That and Talking Bird have always been among my favorites from the album

 

Talking Bird is such a sad sack song, I love singing along

No sunlight is pretty good. Narrow Stairs starts out really excellent but I don't like a single song after Cath at all. Not sure what it is but the album just completely runs out of steam for me right there.

 

Most of my favourite songs on that album are in the second half.

 

Second half of Narrow Stairs is so good wutttt. Grapevine Fires, Long Division, and Pity and Fear are some of my favorite Death Cab songs.

Just came here to say My Mirror Speaks is an excellent Death Cab track and its too bad it didn't find a place on a full length

 

That whole Open Door ep was fantastic.

That sounds cool. Not going to sign up for the subscription for that alone, but I would really like to hear this once it's released.

 

I was not impressed at all with Ben Gibbard's last solo album, Former Lives. I could do with some new Death Cab though, its already been over two years since Kintsugi.

 

I love Kintsugi

 

I honestly had no idea Ben had solo albums, I'll check those out

 

Ben's Teenage Fanclub album is really great, definitely going to have to check out the original album now
