This opener is so much better than any of the singles.

Was loving the opener until he just starts repeating the title over and over. The ending is great too, just wish that middle part was more interesting.

Welp, I needn't have been so worried about this album! It is very good so far. Rand McNally is lovely.

  6. I haven't fucked hard for a Death Cab album since Plans, but I love all of the singles so far, so I'm very optimistic about hearing this tomorrow.

I will get over it, but the repetition throughout the entire album annoys me more than it should. Still, I really liked the album and even found it surprising at parts. I am really excited to listen again - definitely surpassed my expectations.

I listened to each single only once but didn’t notice any annoying repetition but I keep seeing people say that

I love We Laugh Indoors, so I might be immune to Death Cab repetition.

  12. Ben repeating lines isn’t anything new…

    “I loved you, Guinevere” anyone?

  13. Haha we had the same thought at the same time

I was going to say, ragging on repetition with Death Cab when one of the fan favorite songs is “A Movie Script Ending” is a little funny to me.

    Got a light?

First half of this is good but really starts to pick up from “Pepper” on imo

That's one of my least favourites haha.

But also yeah it works at times for sure but all four songs I've heard from this so far have repetition that weakens the songs and just feels lazy to me rather than purposeful.

Michael Schorr went absolutely nuts on A Movie Script Ending

  21. Repetition can be a very powerful musical tool. Death Cab always make it moving

  22. I also don't know what the repetition is in this album, there's nothing like "Gold Rush" or any of the most mentioned "offenders" at all.

it does! i didn't mean to harp on the repetition thing, haha. it's just a few lines that stood out to me that he sings twice that i don't necessarily like - it hardly hampered my enjoyment of the album, which is really, really good.
