Same. I like Glint, but it doesn’t hit me as hard as the others.

It took a bit longer to really hit me but it did this weekend. The first four tracks are my favorite.

Glint was my least fave as well until today and now sits above Near and Canary Yellow. I like the whole thing a lot though

I'm still stuck in the "whole album rules but is heavily front stacked" phase

First three tracks are definitely my favorite. Also really like Night People a whole lot, am I the only one?

I like Night People but I don’t think it fits with the rest of the album. Still a good song.

Night people is the perfect transitional piece into the big album finale

This is pretty easily my second favorite album released so far this year behind Now, Now

I like the ones I've heard, but I also think deafheaven is a very special band and I connect with their music more than the records here.

Alcest and WITTR get mentioned the most when discussing Deafheaven I feel like.

Traveled to pickup the indie exclusive blue vinyl at a record store yesterday. I really really dig this record. The ending riff at the end of Glint gets stuck in my head like a great chorus.

Canary Yellow is still my favorite on here... I think. It changes every time I listen.

I can’t speak enough about Alcest, Altar of Plagues, Ulver and Wolves in the Throne Room.

I mean without even looking at that list An Autumn for Crippled Children, and Pyramids are both stellar bands that have a similar sound.

    what a waste of wood

Have never properly listened to Ulver because that song from Sinister "Silence Teaches Your How To Sing" is the scariest thing I've ever heard and I don't want to subject myself to more of the same. I'm guessing the rest of their stuff is different though

I only know Shadow of the Sun or whatever and the one with the cover that looks like a preschooler drew it (amazing cover btw)

I get so much more emotionally from the Respire album than I do from Deafheaven but it’s still very good.

Getting around to funeralbloom now, and I can't stand the auctioneer esque vocal thing on Black Shoes

kinda would love it if they went the other way and went full shoegaze, vocals and all, and had little bits of metal sprinkled throughout, let’s get it in 2020
