Yeah, it's actually really terrible

Something very funny to me about this coming on the heels of the Joker 2 disaster, in the week that Kraven comes out and reportedly puts Sony’s villain movies to rest.

Anyways. I’m tentatively down. This kinda weird project always has a chance of being fucking rad if done with the right vision.

 

I trust Flanagan

 

I would have had no interest for a Clayface movie if it weren't for the fact that Flanagan's name is attached to it

 

Clayface rules. Very down for this, especially with Flanagan invovled

That’s awesome. Can see him bringing some horror elements to the table for sure

 

Clayface back story is so good. No way this isn’t great

 

Love Flanagan but not sure I'm convinced a movie is the right format for any comic book villain at this point. Miniseries like Penguin could be great imo.

 

Idk, I think a movie is a perfect place for a comic book villain, lol. No clue why it wouldn’t be, tbh. Don’t think a Clayface story needs more than, like… 2 hrs.

My only question is if Joker Two and my Sony messes have made it a hard sell to general audiences. But, if it’s made well and gets good critical buzz and is marketed & budgeted well, I’m sure it could be successful pretty easily.

 

So is it safe to assume Alan Tudyk is playing him? It'd be weird if the trades reported his casting as a VA and then this movie being reported now is just a coincidence. And they already plan to film early next year too.

 

Is Alan Tudyk Clayface in Creature Commandos? If not, why are you suddenly assuming he is who they’ll cast? Anything else is outside the DCU.

 

Because the trades recently reported that he was cast as the VA for Gunn’s DCU. They didn’t specify it was only for Creature Commandos, which isn’t even the main character he’s playing, and Gunn said from the beginning that he wanted actors to play both live action and animated. He already voiced Clayface in the (non-DCU) Harley Quinn show too, so why make a big deal and report his casting as Clayface for the DCU like that?

 

i guess it's more likely Tudyk will reprise his role if this is mainline DCU. and less likely if it's The Batman/Penguin-verse or other Elseworlds. the HQ show is ofc its own thing as well, but like, Greg Cipes is Beast Boy in basically everything (most notably Teen Titans/TTGo and Young Justice), so i don't see why Tudyk can't be one character across multiple universes

 

I didn’t even take into account it being another Elseworlds movie because it wouldn’t fit in the Reeves universe.

 

Fuck that, slap it in there.

First Superman trailer is dropping next week supposedly.

 

Feels like they could have pushed the Clayface release date a week to avoid a bunch of memes and stuff

 

We're going to get another Batman villain spinoff before we get The Batman Part II*, insane. I dig it.
