I feel like i had heard those versions before somehow, maybe like an early video or something.

alter the ending the electric version of the song is maybe his best vocal

 

I wonder why for Dusk and Summer the track titles are noted if they're original lyrics, but Alter the Ending isn't. I feel like there's a lot more differences on ATE than the other albums.

I've been coming back to this project a lot. It's weird how simply changing the song from 3rd person to 1st person is making such a difference to me.

 

What's interesting to me is that lyrically, "Crooked Shadows" feels less detail oriented to me than the 3 records he said that about. It's still great songwriting, but it seems more condensed and less specific than even the un-revised versions of the songs on AMAMABAS, D&S, and ATE

 

I feel like Chris is one of those guys who looks back on his older stuff and wishes he did something different at the time. Like he questions himself on why he chose to that and not this, or he's kicking himself in the butt for letting something/someone else influence the creative process. It happens a lot, but not a lot of people do something about it. Chris did, so thats pretty cool to see how these songs were "meant to be".

 

i wish he'd realize that his early albums are meant to be re-pressed on vinyl

 

Man, after first listen A Mark, A Mission is absolutely fantastic. Last half of the album is incredible. Many songs improved, I think, and I love that album.

 

When’s the Crooked Shadows acoustic version coming?

 

I also find it strange he did Alter the Ending, which has an acoustic version albeit different, and yet skipped Shade of Poison Trees. Would love him to revisit those songs...

I think I'd prefer an album, at this point.
