Digging this a lot

 

Even apart from all the issues, man does Tillian suck with this band - he’s such a stratospheric vocalist that it actively distracts from the music around him

I really dig The Ghost of Billy Royalton but every moment it gets good, there’s Tillian helium wailing for no reason

Not a loss

Best part is when he inadvertently throws the rest of the band under the bus for not being able to sing harmonies haha

I guess Tilian's wife has been consistently one of the shit stirrers on the dgd sub reddit (not that they needed any help) but also despite how typical it is to say " __________ dgd vocalist sucks" Andrew Wells still got offended.

 

Ik this band doesn’t need defending and I haven’t listened since the Tilian fallout, but fwiw I did catch their set while waiting for black veil brides (ik ik, I felt gross going to this tour, but I’d wanted to see BVB and bought a cheap secondhand ticket to not support) and Andrew sounded phenomenal. diverse setlist too. I did not think popular scene bands were capable of filling sets with deep cuts like that, let alone an opener set.

 

Andrew is an awesome vocalist.

I watched a podcast with him recently and he came across as a passionate dude who truly cares about the music he’s making.

Controversies aside, I’m glad that he’s fronting this band now because his vocals suit this band better IMO

 

I thought he still declined to front the band? Weren’t they saying something about working with different vocalists? I still listen, but don’t really follow them much anymore, so I might’ve missed if they said something.

 

In the podcast I listened to, Andrew stated that the band only wanted to continue on if he was fronting it so he agreed despite being hesitant to.

 

Ahh yeah definitely missed that. Thanks!

 

Saw them last night, he sounded great on his stuff and Jonny songs, but definitely was struggling on WOTN/Evaporate.
