It honestly doesn't save a ton since I need Synthetic oil but $10-$15 is dinner so

 

Yeah here it save me more since the cheapest place to get them to change it with me bringing my own oil still costs $20. And a full synthetic change costs like $65 if I pay for the oil there so I'm pretty happy to save the $20 and I typically get a good deal on the oil/filter so that saves me a lot more.

I bought some ramps last year and they paid for themselves after 2 uses.

 

If anybody here regularly changes their own oil or if you are interested in learning it's pretty simple already but to make it even easier buy a fumoto valve to replace the oil drain plug for your car and it makes it so easy a kid could do it.

I installed one on my van last year and now it only takes 5 minutes to do the oils change. No tools required.

 

I've had my eye on ramps for about a year because we bought a van last year and that seems unsafe without ramps. My wife informed me sheds rather just get it done at Walmart where it's only $45 for synthetic and I'll just change my own for my CR-V

 

The ramps are great. But if you're only planning on doing oil changes then I'd say get the fumoto valve instead. Jack it up. Maybe buy a cheap jackstand for $10 since they take up less space. You're only going to be spending about 45 seconds under the car anyway with that valve.

 

What about the filter though?

Is it an Odyssey? I get the filter from the side wheel well anyway. And if you're not a thicc person like me you'll be fine without.

Jack stands are cheaper and take up less garage space though. But the ramps are easier since you don't have tk use a Jack at all.

 

Commuting to NYC is something I'd wish upon no one. Second day in a row it's taking forever. Sometimes I feel like walking would be quicker

 

@Colby Searcy if it is an Odyssey make sure to pay attention to the maintenance schedule for the transmission fluid. There's not a reminder or anything but i noticed my transmission running rough and was shocked to find out that you're supposed to change the atf every 30k miles.
It was a really easy thing to change but just didn't know I needed to do it so often.
