@Ken just got off of the phone with my sister. She said make sure you tell them that you're proposing, they will often print out the menu with the date for you!!

Le Bernardin might be the best restaurant in the world right now according to my sister. She said it's seafood heavy so check out the menu and make sure it's something you would like.

Daniel is classical French and she said she had an amazing meal there.

EMP wasn't what she wanted it to be, she said the menu had changed the day before she went and there was some things that were great and some she thought could be better.

She said you're on track with all of these, she doesn't think you can make a bad choice here. It really comes down to personal preference and what you think you and she would like best.

She also said she thinks you're gonna get a YES at one of these places

I will keep that in mind about telling the restaurant ahead of time. I'm worried that proposing at a restaurant is a little tacky/not romantic/private enough, but it is something to consider! I'm leaning towards proposing after dinner as I heard proposing before can detract from the meal. It is too complicated!

My sister's suggestion is to have your dinner, have a couple of glasses of wine or something and then do it right before dessert. She says have them line up a bottle of champagne if you want. You can put it in the notes when you call them and give them details on how you want it to go. For what you're paying this is the kind of service you can expect. They will cater to your every move, especially if you're doing a proposal.

 

These places will make it very special for you so I wouldn't worry about it being tacky!!

 

It all sounds perfect, but Nicole has expressed great interest in having a private, romantic proposal. I don't know if that can be pulled off at a restaurant, regardless of how nice it is. I'm gonna be struggling with how to do it for the next few months haha.

I'm pretty sure I'm either going to do it this Summer and plan a trip to the west side of the state where we had our first trip together, or do it in September when we go to Pittsburgh
