Speaking of scene bands, I was listening to Let It Enfold You the other night and man that is a cringe fest.

 

I mean imagine running a business and offering both a $5 and a $6 pizza of higher quality. Why? Imagine the logistics of that haha

 

Well yeah but it was especially bad then.

 

there was for me definitely. he was one of the first poets I really got into and kind of showed me what you can do with the artform, but yeah, anything you can say about him I probably agree with. still appreciate what he did for my own art tho

i've never listened to that band, but i've heard they're re-releasing that album but without the cringy stuff, apparently they hate those lyrics

 

i guess my worst literary take is that i still enjoy bukowski even though he was a terrible person and a lot of his work was corny as hell

 

They are doing it for their EP, not Let It Enfold You

 

which is great and more bands should do that

 

16 yo me was so disappointed

that first album banged if you were a teenager. nothing wrong with that.

everything they did after that ranged from awful and uninspired to boring. and I also didnt get any more receptive as I got older.

 

It’s why I will never take Buddy or his woke soapboxing seriously. Like touring on that album’s 10th anniversary or whatever sealed it, you don’t get to go act like the scene police on stage and then go sing songs from an album that very much was about degrading women.

 

The fact you even had to ask is ridiculous.

 

I can agree. I still own several of his books tbh. some of his writing was pretty terrible but some of it was pure genius
