Weddings are so expensive, especially if you're asked to be in the party, and then on top of it if you have to travel it can quickly become a vacation-level expense that feels more like a chore.

My cousin got married in Vegas (technically a "renewing of vows" cause she was already married - she revealed to our family) and I was a bridemaid, it was an Elvis impersonator and it was 110 degrees the whole time and Vegas is gross. And expensive. And my whole family is on the east coast except my sister, I was just like whyyy

i am in a wedding in July that is a three day event as well, but luckily the actual wedding is on the fifth and all prep is on the 4th which is obv a holiday so i only have to use PTO for one day
