I was bullied a bunch from elementary school into high school because I was an overweight nerd.

I became one of the most friendly people ever and people love me so I guess the bullies really won because my life rules now.

Being bullied had a profound impact on me, it took me years to really deal with it. Ultimately, I had to realize that I couldn’t change a thing that happened to me and to be a better person than those people were. It’s why I try to be understanding and compassionate to people, try not to judge a book by a cover if you will. I’m not gonna say I’m the nicest person in the world but I’m a lot less likely to get pissed over minor shit, you know? Also, it’s how I developed my sense of humor, there’s something about making people laugh that you can always use to your advantage.

I largely escaped getting bullied because I'm good at just like fading into the background and being invisible (going through a huge growth spurt and towering over most kids in HS also probably helped). Quiet and seemingly good enough that teachers never believed others when they tried to pin shit on me, mostly harmless stuff from what I remember.

 

As much as my high school sucked, I’m kinda glad I went to a school of only like 300 kids. It was too small to really have cliques and very little bullying happened. If I ever have kids that’s a big fear of mine. They can be so cruel

It just sucks when 13/22 aren’t on streaming services so all I really can watch is the new stuff which I’ve seen a few times already.
