I’m not really a fan of the Marvel movies but this isn’t why. I kinda let that shit slide in movies like this. Similarly, I really didn’t like The Last Jedi, but I couldn’t help but roll my eyes at people saying shit like, “but How dü yu dr0p boms in spayce wut bout no gravyty.” Like, that doesn’t matter in a movie like this

I've discovered that I agree with you but am also not consistent about it. Like...if I'm watching a "serious" movie (for lack of better word) I'm gonna nitpick at plotholes but if it's Marvel/Star Wars/whatever I let nearly everything slide.

For example the plotholes in Us bothered me (although I still loved it) but Last Jedi didn't at all.

yeah, at a certain level some of the minor things are easy to dismiss to go along with story telling, but big things like the time stone or opening the portal around thanos is so glaring it's just kind of like alright i get it that wouldn't be very exciting and you gotta make another movie...but c'mon

It bothers me the most when it is such an easy fix and it’s clear that the writers are either incredibly lazy or stupid.

For example, I love the recent Apes trilogy. Something that really bothered me in War is that they set up the idea that this encampment is heavily guarded but then when our protagonists reach it, the girl just walks right in without hesitation. And it’s like, uhhhhhh, how is she not getting caught right now??? They could have easily fixed it by writing that she snuck in rather than just walked in and it would have been more believable.

 

I am a blank slate tbh. Seems like our biggest need is still a receiving corps but I don't know enough about Hoekenson to say use #9 on him
