that's fair, but how many kinds have you tried? have you ever had any really good chocolate stouts? that's probably the kind of stuff I could see you liking

I've had a Young's Double Chocolate Stout and it tasted too beery for me but I drank it just because to see if it got better.

I'd like to try some of the other stouts but I'm definitely more apprehensive now.

Beers? I think I've probably tried 4-6 different ones and they all tasted the same to me-gross.

I'm probably gonna get destroyed by Mike when he comes in here but I'm here for it.

I haven't had any misadventures yet with my job. When I was bartending at the brewery last fall, I had a regular named Bald Joe who came in because he was a regular at my last bartending job and he was fucking bombed. I don't like him, none of my friends who have had to deal with him like him, and he has a tendency to make women feel uncomfortable because he just doesn't stop talking to them. He was sat next to this lady who was next to her boyfriend and Joe was being Joe and so I made jokes at his expense because that's what I'm good at. Anyways, I made one more that was probably pretty harsh but whatever. The couple left after she was creeped out and Joe exploded in anger at me and yelled at me so much that my friend who just had gotten there to start his shift came over and told Joe to quiet down because people are complaining and joe just kept shouting 'LETS GO OUTSIDE ILL SHOW YOU A SIDE OF JOEY YOU AINT NEVER SEEN' and then said he was never coming back and my friend paul said told him good and the door is right there so get the fuck out.

Favorite show-going experience is tough. Favorite time I had was Warped Tour and Ozzfest when I was 18 and I went with my best friend. My brother's friend was renting a lake house near Pontiac, Mich. where Warped/Ozzfest were and he wasn't going to be in the lake house but said we could stay there. We got in the night before, went to warped, then a day off then went to ozzfest. We had a blast at that lake house smoking on the dock, crashing the strangers party next door, playing my brother's friend's drums and guitars poorly and crushing gatorade and vodka all three days. It was two months after we graduated high school and I was convinced that was what adult life was like. Then I got a full time job and have been slowly crushed by life ever since.

Favorite show is probably seeing The Swellers in a coffee shop in my hometown with Daytrader and Fake Problems as the openers and it was 90 degrees at show time and inside was like 100+. They cut the set short but we pulled them back on for an encore. It was apparently their first headlining tour they'd done. @Joe4th and @kaylasananjou were there, too, apparently.
I don't like cars, so anything than runs. Gray is my favorite color, though.
I like almost any whiskey-based mixed drink. I had an old fashioned last night which was nice. Least favorite is anything overly sweet.

Last good book I read, hmm. I always feel like a pleb because I don't read often, I always get antsy and my mind wanders to things I should be doing. Right now all my reading material is beer related because I'm going to start studying again for the Cicerone Exam, so I'm reading Tasting Beer by Randy Mosher.

Fave mexican dish is these killer barbacoa tacos from this taco truck here in town. So good.
I'm a sucker for ice cream, probably my all-time favorite. If we're talking a meal, I love italian food and would probably say lasagna.
Favorite regular stout is Founders Imperial Stout
Favorite BA stout is Bourbon County (though I still haven't even had 2017 yet. I need to get my bottles from my ex)
Favorite IPA is tough. Right now it's probably M-43, but I'm a sucker still for Two Hearted and Red's Rye.

Song that always puts me in a good mood ... first one that jumps to my mind is Damien Rice's "Eskimo." When the strings swell and the Finnish opera singer comes in, I love it.

I'm down for drinks nearly any time. I have four events in four cities this week so that'll be slightly difficult but I'm in Ferndale once a week and you're welcome to come out there (though I have no idea how far that is from where you moved because I forgot where you moved because I'm a wonderful human). Most organically is probably going to be the night of the Phoebe show on the 1st, no? Otherwise, I am usually down for Sunday nights (except this sunday because it's the day after Winter Beer Fest) or just let me know and I can head over your way on a weekday night.
I have only seen the first three original Star Wars movies and I always thought Darth Vader was the best. But I almost always root for villains.
    Scrubs
I don't remember where you live, so maybe the trend hasn't made it down there yet, but Northeast or New England Style IPA's are great ways to get into the style. They're brewed differently than traditional IPA's so the best versions are basically opaque -- looking like a Hefeweizen or something along those lines -- and packed with fruit-forward hops that were added at times of the recipes that impart the least amount of bitterness possible. So what you're left with, if you're drinking a well crafted one, is loads of tropical fruit flavor and almost a fresh-fruit-tartness that cleans up the inherent sweetness from the beer. We have one of the best versions of that style being made like 25 minutes from me and it's surreal to see how many non craft beer drinkers drink M-43 by Old Nation because it's so approachable. It's basically fruit juice.
Only other rec I would make for a chocolate stout is Mokah or Choklat by Southern Tier. They're massively sweet chocolate stouts made with (i'm presuming) loads of extract.

When I act irate that people don't like beer it's just a big joke. I used to be, like, a beer evangelist but now I'm just in the camp of drink what you like.
    I fuckin' wish.
    The exchange went:

    "Happy Birthday Dylan!"

"Mike I will murder you I swear to god"

"Wow just want to be nice [shocked emoji]"

That's the end of our conversation.
I didn't see the performance. I will look it up and let you know my findings.
There are Mike's of all shapes and sizes, for sure. To know whether I am the biggest or not is impossible, for I have not met all of the Mike's out there.
