    Yeah they definitely get a good amount of love and respect but I'd love to see them hit Japandroids/Hold Steady levels of cult status

    yeah but it's very culty, sort of like titus andronicus. band has sort of stagnated and even potentially lost some traction even as the critical world and their devoted fans still love them

    That sucks because they seem to hit that same nerve center for me and I feel like I've seen multiple think pieces about the void Japandroids have left and I want to be like "Right here! This is good!"

    Cant get over how good this bands discography is. Theyre like the best mix of Nirvana, Modest Mouse, and some Titus Andronicus. Just great indie rock with some aggression and some somberness.

    Shoulda been BNM, honestly all of their records should have been. But at least the review acknowledges that they're basically outside the indie zeitgeist now
