They're not bad, just two of them are skip-worthy. :P

 

I LOVE BMT so much. I always compare Copeland and Thursday in that they have great progression throughout their albums. BMT feels like their Full Collapse in that it's a great album, but the band went on to do better things.

ESR is their ACBTLD

 

i disagree a lot with the last post. mostly because YAMS and Ixora are far better than ESR

 

ESR is probably my favorite. The last 3 records are so close to each other though.

 

Ixora for me

that album is absolutely masterful

 

Listened to the twin edition today. It definitely stands on its own. I probably listen to the combined version the most though.

 

Ixora is in the running for my favorite album period.

 

Ixora is clearly their best album, and YAMS is a close second

 

I think their last four are all incredible at what they do. ESR is my favourite though. Walking Downtown is the only song of theirs I think is bad.

 

YAMS = ESR > BMT > In Motion > Ixora, but Ixora is absolutely not a bad album in any way. I adore it. I just find myself going back to the older stuff way more.

Ixora is definitely my favorite for personal reasons (and also because it's just a gorgeous album) and after that it probably goes chronologically, honestly. Some days I may prefer ESR over Sunshine but generally speaking I think each record is better than the last. One of the only bands I can say that about.

Also my Thursday comparison was just from a purely progression standpoint. Ixora is an absolute masterpiece and a great progression from YAMS.

 

Agreed. ESR vs YAMS changes depending on the day lol. Such fantastic albums. Cannot wait to see them again in December.

Did Copeland delete the YouTube video of the Ixora announcement that had Ordinary playing while the band jammed out?

 

yep yep yep. that album defined my high school years for me. so many memories attached to it. i think it's just about perfect.
