Grifting 101 is the only episode of S6 that I don't think is great

I can definitely see the arguments for the RV episode but it just has so much absurdity in it that it still kills me every time. The fucking end scene with the dad saying he wishes he had bigger hands to save their son was so fucking out there lol

Loved the Chang commerical episode tho. Liked the callback to Buzz Hickey in it, too

One of my favorite gags of S6 was Elroy's rant about the green #3 billiard ball. If came out of nowhere, was completely irrelevant to the conversation, and was just so absurd and random that I can't help but laugh. It's such a dumb, good joke.

    So assuming that this weekend...

I really like season 6. I see it almost as a different show, but when I go back and rewatch the series I still enjoy most of the season. Pagent Brewster kills it.

  9. Give Paget Brewster more comedic roles, she was one of my favorite parts of that season

oh yeah! I forgot she was in this! (so, this is season 6 then? that's what I was told at home...that season 6 was the one not aired on basic tv)

Yeah, season six aired on Yahoo Screen which lasted just long enough to air Community season six lol.

Pageat Brewster was hilarious in S6, as was Keith David. Jonathan Banks and John Oliver (in his more regular capacity) were great in S5, too.

Speaking of Paget Brewster, although not Community related-saw an episode of Mom with her in it last night and she was so damn hilarious as the main character Kristy's boss. She's a habitual adderal user but took too much so she took weed to chill her out but it was all a mess and she gets so freaked out and has lipstick smeared on her cheek and Kristy is forced to slap her boss out of it, but Paget slaps Kristy back and gets such a rush saying it's so fun and slaps her again. lmao omg, it was so freaking funny!

Doing a rewatch of this, and the spike in quality after the midway point of the first season is incredible. Just totally shifts gears entirely.

Joel McHale and Ken Jeong started a new podcast called The Darkest Timeline where they talk about the show. Sounds similar to Office Ladies but I don't think they're going through every episode. First episode is up now, haven't listened yet though

The Darkest Timeline with Ken Jeong & Joel McHale - Ken Jeong & Joel McHale

Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs and Dan Harmon have all already said they wanted to go on in Joel's comments on Insta

Listened to the podcast. It's super spontaneous and unorganized sounding, and not something it sounds like they're planning to do a ton of, but in a super charming way. Really just feels like listening to a phone call between two old friends who are super funny. Looks like the format will mostly revolve around fan questions, although they got sidetracked a ton and only answered like four lol. They also do bring up coronavirus a decent amount, so might not be the best thing to use if you're trying to escape from all of that

A few random notes I took:

    - They go the most in-depth into their feelings on S4 that I've ever heard from cast members of this show. They try to be diplomatic in their wording so as not to offend the writers/new showrunners, particularly Ken, but you can blatantly tell they didn't like the season. We also get the most details on the story of Joel getting Dan back that I've ever heard, apparently he individually reached out to every cast member and said he was going to do whatever it takes to get Dan back and asked if they would stand with him. Joel really deserves more credit for saving the second half of the show

    - Building on that, you can really tell how sincerely Joel loved this show. He's usually constantly sarcastic and "on" so it was really nice to hear him express how much he loved the writing and how proud he was to be on the show

    - They don't say a ton but they do discuss that panel a few months ago where they went to the dinner afterwards that Donald showed up to, and no surprise, it was Joel that texted him and told him to come by. Joel again has a super nice anecdote where he talks about just looking around the table and seeing everyone together again and realizing how long he's known these people and how much he loves them; he almost sounds like he's choking up

    - Ken's favorite Jeff Winger moment is in the D&D episode when he says "We'll find a fatter Neal" when trying to cheer up Fat Neal

    - Joel namedrops the song Backpackers, a Childish Gambino deep cut lol

I'd say it's worth a listen for sure if you're a superfan. I feel like once they get a better feel for the podcasting format we'll get some great stuff out of this, although again it doesn't feel like it's meant to be a long running thing

Yeah you can tell how much the show really meant to them from the podcast. It was nice.

Harmon, please give them one more thing to all do together. It’s one of the few shows I’ve seen where the cast legitimately all want to do the movie when asked, as opposed to something like The Office or Firefly where everyone gives a political “I don’t think so, but if the story made sense to me as an actor” kind of response.
