    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

if that preview is true I am so done. I read Sinister War #4 today and was so angry after it. it's just the most frustrating thing I have ever followed in my damn life

It’s so wild to me that the Sinister War miniseries had to be co-written by Ed Brisson, who I believe was credited above Spencer in the last issue. What sad, mediocre mess from a sad, mediocre writer.

If what y’all are saying is real, it’d be the best thing to come from this ASM run ‘cause at least it’d be batshit insane, lol. In the same way that I’m more into Chuck Austen’s X-Men than something like X-Men: Gold (outside of that wedding issue Marquez drew).

So after reading thoughts from other people around Reddit, a lot of folks think that it might actually be Sarah Stacy, the kid that Norman had with Gwen, who hasn't been seen in continuity for years. I'm not sure if that's better or worse, as a development.

The less they address Sins Past, the better

Well, I hope they're wrong, but I do remember my spider-sense tingling when they called the second event in all this Sins Rising. I know it's a reference to the Sin Eater, but when you think that the storylines with the Stacy kids were called Sins Past and Sins Remembered, it's...an unfortunate connotation.

I'm quoting myself because Bleeding Cool just ran an article today about the upcoming issue with new pages they claim are from that same issue, and not only are we wading knee deep back into Sins Past and Remembered, but it looks like they're retconning it to all be a Harry plot to begin with to fuck with Norman.

This is either awesome or horrible and I can't decide which.

So I dunno if anyone has read the new issue yet, but I have to give Spencer credit. This is batshit crazy retconning going on, but I'm actually pretty okay with it and it kind of makes sense? I mean, it's completely a giant ass pull but it's also not completely out of character.

    Spidey spoilers below

86 issues patiently waiting for OMD to be retconned and it was fucking sins past instead. well done

As an overall note, it would have been great to get a Spencer run without a lot of the reshuffling of existing parts. It’s definitely a run to set up future stories rather than being a great one that can stand on its own. It’s a shame really, because I think the parts of the run that were good were really fucking good.

I think it's still going to explore One More Day, what with Mephisto and Strange chilling in the background and all; it's just using Sins Past to do it. Weaponizing it, if you will.

After all, you know what they say: It's not about the destination, but the retcons we made along the way.

Anyway, I'm starting to wonder if they're not going to retcon One More Day as just being a long con by Mephisto to get at Dr. Strange. Like it was never about Spider-Man to begin with.

oh shit yeah for some reason I thought #73 was the end of the run. I thought it was a very strange way to end a run. I’m imagining #74 just being 80 pages retconning every shitty Spidey story haha

If I wanted to catch up on all that Sin-Eater/Kindred stuff, what's the reading order/tie-ins I need to snag? I've been so out of the loop recently.

Cool that they’re finally putting out Marvel Unlimited exclusive comics, with legit creative teams, like what Netflix, etc., do with film & television. I don’t like digital-first comics, but Marvel Unlimited stuff is a great idea that I couldn’t believe they hadn’t properly done yet.

I don’t really read digitally, so I’m not the target audience. And, it’s not as cool as DC partnering with WEBTOON. But, still, cool.

The new stuff from Marvel Unlimited seems more phone based, so I'm curious how it looks on tablets since I only read them on my iPad. They did already screw up the library though by taking away the grid view (unless I'm dumb and just can't find it). But now I can only see like 5-6 comics vs. 12 or 16 before on each "page."

I haven't been a Marvel Unlimited subscriber for 2 years or so, but I remember that interface being soooo much better than DC Infinite.

Its absurd how terrible the DC app is. The only way the design makes any sense is if their intention was for people to get frustrated and NOT read comics.

IMO DC handled event reading lists better than MU but I also don't really read those haha. I did a vs. video on my YouTube channel several months back, so it might be time to revisit them individually now that Marvel dropped this big update. I should take my iPad off of the beta OS though so I don't accidentally blame the app for beta issues haha.

The DC app is sooooo slow. I use an iPad pro and its constantly freezing and / or crashing. And then the filters for searching for comics are so limited on DC.

Maybe its just the particular way I want to use the app (I want to read all the comics released on a given release week at one time) that the app isn't suited to handle.

Oh it's far from perfect. I hate when you filter and then as soon as you click on a series and go back to the list, it completely reverts back to everything AND to the top of the list.

MU just ruined the library to the point where I'm just declaring bankruptcy on it and deleting everything to make my "to read" list more manageable. But it also takes 4 clicks to delete comics out of the library lol. So they both have some flaws for sure. But yeah, DC's app needs some better organization overall.

I don't know if you have this issue with the DC app, but when I am reading on my iPad Pro and I try to click the three dots to pull up the menu and remove a comic from my list, it almost never registers that I touched it. It takes like 4 or 5 attempts. Beyond maddening.

Oh interesting! I don't think I've come across that. Now that I'm finally done with Stephen King books though, I'll have way more time for comics and figuring out what is terrible about both apps haha.

I know I probably shouldn't go off the list but the NYCC comics list has like ten people on it. That artist alley is gonna be a big bummer.

    Yep.

Not surprising that Marvel didn’t care about transphobic Instagram comments or antagonism with journalists, but wild that they still let him finish out Immortal Hulk after, months ago, he drew a Star of David and hand lettered… “jewelry” without the “l” on a jewelry store window in the background. I’m pretty sure it was addressed and removed from the digital & collected editions, but unlike that guy on X-Men: Gold some years ago, he wasn’t fired immediately (and almost still got to do Timeless).

Guess they just needed that last push to do something about it?

On a lighter note, the artist they replaced him with is Greg Land, making it the first time seeing that guy’s name on a comic was a relief.
