Just read vol 5 and that was even better. I can't believe how good those two volumes were, I can't wait for 6. Rick Remender continues to amaze me.

Ok, so, I went back through the iFanboy podcast feed for the heck of it, and I found an old episode from a few years ago dedicated to Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Strikes Again, one of the most notoriously bad Batman comics ever.

... Wow, I really wanna read it now, lol.

From what they said, both good and bad, about the comic, and from what I've seen online from it, man, it sounds like the kind of absurd, I-don't-give-a-crap nonsense that I would love.

I don't want to suffer through the infamous trash digital coloring, but if they ever did one of those Batman Noir black and white volumes (which they never will, but if they did), I'd preorder that sucker, lol.

Got all three books I took signed today. Dustin Nguyen signed a drew a quick bat cowl in my Heart of Hush copy. Then I stood in line for Mark Waid and noticed later that in Kingdom Come he spelled my name as Deanne but spelled it correctly in the second book, which was book 1 of Flash.

I also got into two panels with Marv Wolfman. He was solo in the first one just talking about how to write characters and story. The second was a 4 person panel talking about writing great dialogue.

So basically, WonderCon has been pretty great so far. I'll be back tomorrow and will probably spend some more money that I shouldn't haha.

I met him at Baltimore Comic Con, he had a signing later in the day and the line was mad long, but wandering around he was just sitting in another spot signing secretly haha. super nice guy. got my Kingdom Come signed.

Nice! I'm a tad bummed he spelled my name wrong in that one but oh well haha. He did better than most Starbucks baristas do!

Mark Waid came to my LCS and I got him to sign Archie #1. I don't think he really said anything to me but he seemed nice

“I’ve been planning Metal for as long as I’ve been writing Batman,” said Snyder. “But this is bigger than Batman. Greg and I started dropping clues during Court of Owls, we continued through our Joker stories and we placed our biggest hints in the run that culminated with Batman #50. And now we’re back to tell a story that breaks everything apart. This will be the definitive project of our careers. Metal takes us in an entirely new direction. Greg and I will dig beneath the surface of all the stories we’ve told to find a place of terror and twisted nightmares.”

This sounds like the coolest thing.

I just hope it isn't too reliant on knowledge of what's going on with DC right now since the only thing I'm planning on reading is Batman.

I can't say I'm excited per se, but I could see myself picking it up and enjoying it a decent bit. We'll see as we get closer. Capullo did some good work on Batman, so seeing him draw a big DC event could be a lot of fun.

That looks fucking crazy and I cannot wait. Court of Owls is what got me really into comics five years ago.

Yeah, that Batman run is what started me reading them too and Capullo's art is as good as it gets imo. I'll read anything he does.

I have interest in METAL, but I hope when it is done that DC and Snyder move on from his Batman. I am all in on the King era.

And I would love to see Snyder on a different character. Or just have him write indie stuff.

I'd like to see Snyder revamp GL or Aquaman or something. I would say Flash but it seems like Joshua Williamson is killing it ATM

If they gave me Snyder on a long haired, hook handed, bearded Aquaman...I would buy 10 of those haha.

Now I'm just imagining a Snyder/Murphy/Hollingsworth Aquaman story with a tone like The Wake.

    beautiful and chequered, the end

am i allowed to talk about manga in here? I've started ready Billy Bat and so far am completely blown away. Naoki Urasawa is seriously a master of the craft.

There is some Grant Morrison level of craziness going on in this book, and im loving every second of it.
