I'm really looking forward to this series. America is a cool character, and Quinones is a wonderful artist.

I'll definitely try and pick those up when the trades come out. And that omnibus is ridiculously huge!

So, I was wondering why I don't follow Mark Waid and it's because he blocked me for some reason?! I'm pretty bummed!

Really? Weird. What did you do? You must have been part of some Twitter exchange that got misunderstood or something, lol. Some comics people are pretty block-happy (and criticized for it, but I get why they would be).

I have no idea. I tagged him in a review I did for Champions, but it was a good review of the book. He probably just doesn't like being tagged haha.

Remember when I said I'd take a break from buying comics? Yeah... IST has some extra-discounted material for Black Friday/Cyber Monday, so I changed my mind.

Getting the complete classic Champions run in MMW hardcover for $30 (usually an inflated $100; I think $30 is a decent price for a nice hardcover with 20-something issues), Sandman Overture hardcover for $7.49, Dark Tower: Gunslinger Born hardcover for $2.49, and Uncanny Avengers vol. 4 hardcover for $2.49. Tossed in the normal-discounted The Movement trade by Gail Simone from my wish list to get free shipping.

Between initially making my cart before work and actually checking out, a Kurt Busiek Spider-Man trade (Untold Tales #1-8) in my cart disappeared, so I'm really hoping I don't get an email about one of those no longer being available, lol.

I'm debating an order too, but my LCS has 50% off all trades on Friday so I may just wait and hope he has most of what's in my list.

Haven't read it yet, just gave it a quick flip through, but AD looks gorgeous, so excited to read it.

Jealous. Mine used to have 33% off everything except new issues in the morning, but this year it's only 25% off.

Yeah. Still being jobless for the most part, I know I shouldn't spend the money, but that's a hard sale to pass up.

Batgirl's arc was pretty anti-climatic. I did enjoy the arc, it wasn't particularly gripping but done really well and I love Babs, but it did feel like it was at least building to something and it really didn't pay off. Excited for the next arc. Action Comics was great, love what they're doing.

The end of Death of X was trash, and Civil War 2 #7... i just... this book should have only been three issues long, four tops. but as bad as Civil War has been, the Andrea Sorrentino "Old Man Logan" beats look so, so so good.

I've been paying attention to Death of X from afar, so I can't comment on the full execution, but what I saw of the death/twist was honestly really cool. Having just marathoned and loved Bendis' Uncanny run, the idea of Scott dying anticlimactically and Emma using her powers to give him a martyr's death is such a perfect and effective idea for me. Plus, I love that Emma Frost is alive, so maybe she'll be in one of the ResurrXion titles! I could see her being in Generation X, which I'd LOVE. Sucks that the overall execution didn't work at all for you, though.

As for Civil War II, I didn't pick up my comics yet, but I've enjoyed this event more than most people, so I hope I like #7 more than you did.

AD was great. IGN's review reflects my opinion. So character heavy that it's a bit confusing as to what exactly is going on right now, but that's not a bad thing. Loved all the prose, Snyder is such an excellent writer.

Definitely want to check this out, so I'll probably pick it up. After hearing Heath Corsen on the Nerdist Writers Panel talk about it, it kind of sold me. Though hearing creators takes on a book always sells me and it can be hit or miss.
Really enjoyed this! Makes me stoked for the next two books!

I wrote a review for AD: After Death if you guys want to check it out:
