Agreed. I think he’s pretty funny. I think this special he tries to be a little too Chappelle (not by being anti-gay or trans, just the “long celebrity story” aspect).

gary gulman remains a technical/vocab genius and i could listen to his word choice describe p much anything but this last special felt very tried in terms of its subject matter. Felt like watching a master talk about stuff that didn't really feel vital...

 

Yeah, I liked the subject matter and saw what he was getting at, but didn’t feel like his strongest material.

 

Haven’t listened to Get Played in awhile. Gave the new ep a listen and man the new theme is low energy.

VERY pleasantly surprised that these all look like lineups that would have been on the Comedy Central version

 

I was optimistic about the show when they announced Jo Firestone was the head writer, that’s a very solid lineup

Finally a new regular episode of This Is Important today. So glad their tour is over. I gave up listening to the live pod recordings after like 2 eps so I haven't listened to them since probably August.

 

Just now listening to her David Cross pod episode from a few weeks ago. The amount they are into the anti-podcast thing is pretty incredible. His Odenkirk episode was the same way.

 

This is the stream that got me into DBJ. I'm so excited to re-watch. I implore everyone to watch if you like Go Off Kings/YKS/Blocked Party. Ive been obsessed with their streams ever since they did this in July.

 

After Midnight was decent. Taylor Tomlinson is way funnier going off the cuff than scripted and her laugh is pretty forced. With a little fine tuning, it’ll be good.
