Gillis and Dan Soder are two that would be great if they didn’t associate with some of the worst pieces of shit in comedy. And you know, the whole SNL thing.

Funny because I’ve never seen Shane talk about that shit at all himself in his stand up. In podcasts sure but from what I’ve seen it’s not really part of his actual material, which is funny

 

It’s exhausting for me to care about who is cancelled and who hangs out with who is cancelled and who was cancelled for what and why wasn’t this person cancelled etc etc to the point where I literally couldn’t give less of a shit about any of it as long as the material is funny. Like I just wanted to say I thought his stand up special is funny and here we are lol.

pretty sure I’ve seen all these bits individually before but having it all in a single set to watch now is dope

 

I was mostly joking when I mentioned it too, no judgement.

 

I'm not gonna shame anyone for liking something (with some reservations). My friend watched the Gillis special, so I watched it with him and it was okay. His Down's Syndrome jokes resonated with my friend because his wife's brother has Down's and he thought it was cool that he just talks about them like anyone else and not these fragile people.

But he is a guy that's famous for being fired for being racist and pretty much anything he does almost always has some of the most racist comedians out there. A mention of him is gonna trigger a reaction from comedy nerds like us in this thread. Not judging because it's not like I try to listen to only people with some kind of strict moral code, it just is what it is. I get why it's both exhausting for some and frustrating for others.

Jo Firestone as head writer give me the most faith that this is going to be hilarious. So happy she was able to get such a huge gig like this after WBD canned Joe Pera

 

They have paused it's release because of the actors strike. I think on Threedom Lauren said they have 4 recorded ready to go as soon as they can.

I've finally got around to listening to the Strike Force Five podcast, and I gotta say its a pretty fun listen, and really funny at times. So cool hearing different back stories and experiences all the hosts have been through doing their shows. Also cool learning how each of them got their shows in the first place
