Jillian Bell is the true star of Workaholics

 

The first few seasons are absolutely hilarious and then it becomes hit or miss but still worth finishing. Definitely recommend if you like Always Sunny, Broad City, The League and other shows like that

 

Yeah, can be bro-y in hindsight but I'd recommend at least the first three or four seasons. Not sure if I watched past five

 

I'm on my second viewing of the series and I highly recommend it. I've noticed that Sean has written a lot of the episodes and even appears as a drama teacher. As other mentioned, the humor can be bro-y, but 9 times out of 10 the jokes are on the guys for being misguided or gross. Their outdated views (when they do pop up) are never rewarded and are often called out by other characters.

I'll take this time to say that Blake is my favorite.

 

I loved it when it started, but also couldn’t have been more within the target audience, haha. Just a directionless 21 year old male stoner college student. If I wasn’t on my way out of the show by the time I went to see Devine do stand up in 2013 then that definitely kickstarted me. Will always love seeing Blake in stuff though.

weirdly, was recently reminded that Chris D’Elia appeared on an episode in the first season as a child predator

 

whoa, that spoiler tag is the equivalent of Louis CK making that movie where the plot is basically an old dude trying to fuck a 17 year old

And Comedy Central took that episode down immediately.

I feel like “Workaholics” is already a relic of the 2010s. It was perfect for the time, but I don’t think I’ve heard someone mention it in a long while.

 

I'd say the "bro" humor is pretty satirical for the most part, all three of the main characters are total losers lol

 

the shrooms episode is a classic

 

Some stuff didn’t age well but otherwise I still love it

 

Workaholics was great for the first like 5 seasons. Started to decline in 6 and 7 probably had more subpar episodes than good ones, but overall definitely recommend the show.

 

And he plays a very similar character in You

 

his character in You is basically his real self
