Yeah, reading your posts from last semester, I'm not sure how you were able to keep up working so much. I've always been impressed by people who can work full time and still survive as I full time student. I probably couldn't do it.

But thanks for giving your opinion! I'm leaning towards doing it, since I think, while some of the classes will be hard, they shouldn't have too much work (I may regret saying this come September)

    You got this dude.

Separate thought but I kinda miss school? Well, I don’t miss the work and the stress, but I really miss being on campus lol.

ughhh I might have fucked myself. I knew you couldn't register for classes until you turned in your immunization records in but I didn't realize it says you need to turn them in 3 weeks before registration....my registration/orientation is thursday. and I still don't have them in. Soo. I don't know what's going to happen. Wish me luck.

    fuck college lol

school board raised tuition again without there being anymore funding for financial aid, so essentially, i'm being priced out of going full-time. i'm still enrolled in one class and slowly going to finish my degree, but i've been in school for over 5 years and have taken enough classes to know at least *some* things in the field i want to get into, which i decided is going to be activism. all the extra time i have this semester i'm dedicating to working and volunteering to fight for tuition-free college in nyc city colleges. figure if they're going to make it a pain for me to get a degree, i'm going to be a thorn in their ass the rest of the time i'm there.

Well to update all of the zero people who were on the edge of your seat: I had to pay $81 for a second immunization on the spot in order to sign up for classes. And every single class in my major was full except the “intro to communications” class which is online. Great!!! The good news of that is that I have like 9 elective classes to fill still so I can just do that this first semester. I also found out the major that I put so much thought into and thought was like me finally finding my calling....well they don’t offer concentrations anymore soo I basically now have to pick up a minor. But I only have so many electives so if I’m gonna do that I have to do that like now

    Ahhh so much pressure!!!

All in all I’m tentatively signed up for 4 classes. 2 in my major (one seat opened up and I snagged it) and 1 in a class that would benefit an asl minor if I choose, and one elective. But classes do open up so I have to like keep an eye. And also research minors.

Did I mention it’s a lot of pressure!!!

I just got an email saying I qualify for the Middle Class Scholarship. This is separate from the financial aid I'm already getting so if this comes through that would be rad. I'll take any extra money I can get.

I messed up college my first time around and left to get a job and get some financial security.

I now have that financial security so now I'm trying this college thing again and this is nerve wracking just thinking about first day.

I had to go get a parking permit because I'm on the side campus and I'm being lazy and not wanting to just skate from my work to the campus.(it's like a mile away)

someone here waited 20 minutes trying to get an ID just to find out it cost money and went NOPE and dipped.

I was like wow but also I feel you.

my teacher wants us to do a writing sample that is between 200-300 words and like a full page to two pages but that makes no sense since it seems like so little.

I have a week left too (and am also waiting for financial aid/scholarships to come in). Is it bad that I'm actually somewhat looking forward for this semester to start? And, as a follow-up question, how long will it take me to regret the previous statement?

Wanted to take one class this semester, but didn't think it was gonna cost as much as it does. Now I'm trying to just get some career experience. My resume says I attended til 2018 so I'm gonna keep it like that let hiring managers interpret that however they want lol.

Hey man, you’ll be fine. Mistakes happen in the beginning of the semester and that’s alright. Just do well on the midterm and final. You got this.

Class started for me this week. Parking is actual hell and has given me panic attacks both days. I literally got on campus an hour before class started and I was still late due to parking

Also since my last class ends at 4:45, leaving is actual hell too. The hour drive home took me 2 hours Monday. Today I’m gonna try and stay on campus to let traffic die down a bit

Going to a ~real college~ is such a different experience wow also makes me feel old as hell

I planned all my classes for the side campus(like 5 minute drive from main) and it is so nice. Small classrooms and decent size student lounge area. The best part is how there is always parking because everyone always tries to go to main campus so it is super chill at the side campus.
