Why can I play Fortnite until 6am no problem but as soon as I try to do homework at night I fall asleep???

 

My lack of posts here this semester reflects how much I've been giving a shit or doing anything in school. My schedule sucks, weather is shit, getting to campus takes 40-50 minutes, and I don't have any friends there. I did join a school org, but we haven't had enough meetings to really get to know each other yet. The school president or something last year got busted for embezzling money and while there are holes in the walls of some classrooms and ceiling tiles falling on people. I've had great professors but this school itself is shit and I hate going there.

 

how much longer do you have at that school?

 

I'm on the final stretch of my senior year. Just about 20 credits shy of meeting the schools min credits to graduate. Im taking 12 credits now and was gonna cover the last 8 in the summer but no one is letting me know if the classes I need will be offered then

 

oh shit we're gonna graduate within a semester I think. well, you're almost done so not much longer attending a school that sounds like it's falling apart. you're a philosophy major right?

 

Yea philosophy with a concentration in law. I think sometime last fall I was seriously questioning what I'm gonna do after I graduate and I kinda wanna just get back into music lol

 

i feel like i've asked before but what were you doing in music? can you do both?

 

I don't really talk about my music on this site much, but I produce and do songwriting. I thought about teaching phil at a cc so I can have time to do music too, but those jobs are starting to be given to phd's cuz the market for university work is so bad, and adjunct pay is god awful for the amount of work it takes. What I think I want to do now is become involved in activism as an artist, but idk. I'm in therapy and on meds (recently) trying to work thru all my self-doubt cuz that's really keeping me from doing any of the above.

 

well, whatever you choose to do i hope it pans out in the way that you want. at the very least, getting help for things you recognize are an obstacle to your goals/quality of life is an excellent step forward and im glad to hear you're doing it, that shit can be hard. is there an area of activism specifically you'd want to focus on?

 

an hour and 15 to write and turn in this essay :) i suck :)

 

made it with five minutes to spare ayy, i even unknowingly hit all the points i had to even though i didn't find the requirements til i submitted lol

 

If I get into the public policy MA program that I really want to get into, then I'd focus on education, so I think that that would be my focus as an activist.

 

Today, I had a meeting with my professor from last semester that gave me some motivation. I turned in some of the work I'm making up and told me she is glad to see me, because most students in my situation never come back. The presentation went well too.

 

I'm so fucked this week. A midterm tomorrow and throughout the week and I am not prepared for any of them. Working until 11 tonight so I guess I'll study after -_-

 

Me: Bro. You gotta start studying. It's 2am and you have a midterm tomorrow that you know nothing about.

Also me: watch this tho

 

I think I'm going to be withdrawing from one or two of my classes -_-

I'm still weighing the pros and cons but I really fucked up every class this semester so far. Some more than others.

I don’t think I’ve ever missed more class or tried less than I have this semester. I just can’t get out of bed in the morning.

 

holy shit. just got an email saying summer courses can now be covered via financial aid. As far as I'm aware, they have always been out of pocket so that's cool. I might have to take advantage of that as much as I want a real break.

 

I got an hour and a half to cram for this midterm lol. Then I have to write a three page paper by tonight as the second part of the midterm. Blech.

 

I should start going to class again

 

I think I need to just take the L on this and hope that I do better on the essay portion and also do the extra credit that’s pffered
