In no world, pun intended, is Vax 1 not better than Rainbow or Color Before The Sun. I acknowledge that SSTB benefits from nostalgia. Dark Sentencer, Gutter, Unheavenly creatures as songs alone are so far better from anything on those albums.

I tried to put on TCBTS recently and was just… not feeling it at all. Honestly at this point I wish Claudio had decided to do it as a PFI/solo album instead of it being Coheed.

 

always thought Color would've made a great acoustic album tbh. I have acoustic versions of Island and Atlas on my phone and they clear the album versions

After seeing Ghost live I’ve definitely been sleeping on that song. Was really cool seeming them bust that out

 

I legitimately think Ghost is my favorite on here. Am I remembering correctly that they opened with it during the main TCBTS tour? With Glassjaw? That was awesome.

 

Not sure but they played it like halfway into Window headlining tour when they were with Alk Trio in Berkeley

 

Just looked it up, they went Ghost into IKS, which is an incredibly awesome way to open a show.

 

Yeah that one on the summer 22 tour sounded really great

 

only just heard The Joke. it's fine but I see why it didn't make an album lol, feels kind of perfunctory. would love a more Vaxis I type sound on the next album, but not expecting it

 

One of my favorite things about this band is how much fun their songs are to play. I’ve been having a blast with Junesong Provision lately.

 

According to setlist.fm, they're playing a new song, Blindside Sunny, on tour

The live version isn’t doing much for me, but live debuts of songs usually don’t tell the full story. Claudio’s vocals sound too monotonous.

 

Yeah I’ve personally never been big on live debuts of new songs or even getting attached to the live version before you hear the recorded version. Ie Iron Fist and Settle the Scar etc

 

Looking at the setlist, I got impression he would've screamed a little more in the verses if they weren't about to play The Crowing. Crazy setlist for only 10 songs and I bet he was pacing himself.

that being said, of course they chose to debut the song and they chose the setlist, so. . idk
