We reach for the longest shadow

That lead guitar in the second part of the chorus is some of Travis' catchiest work in a while. 3/3 for me, which Vaxis 1 was not (title track).

I have a feeling the album will be more straightforward rock and less prog

It feels like a blend of IKS3 and NWFT

Yeah this was going to be the case as soon as we found out they were working with a big name producer and Claudio made those comments about this album being what "modern day Coheed sounds like, and it might be polarizing". I think it's worked well on these 3 songs so far though, Shoulders and Liar's Club get in and out with no wasted time and Nainasha is allowed to breathe a little more and it provides good variation. I'm just hoping for one prog epic, doesn't even need to be 7+ minutes long.

feels like NWFT and TCBTS to me, but i could see the IKS influence as well

I think this band has largely been more straightforward alt rock for a while now. I mean, they still push the envelope at times, but there aren't nearly as many weird time signatures or structures on their later material as their were on their first three albums

Ugh, Liar's Club has such a catchy verse, and then BOOM there's the Coheed chorus you've heard 90 times before

It’s one of my best friends and at that point I will have seen Coheed 11 times so I can miss this one lol

Whew! “Liars” is Coheed at their poppy best. I’m surprised, but so far I’m liking this ultra slick, “streamlined” side of the band.

But how many weddings have you been to? Weddings happen every day. Concerts are once in a life time. Tell them that.

Amazing how they just keep getting bigger and bigger after all these years. Will for sure be hitting up that Forest Hills Stadium show.

the recorded version of liars is better than the live version, but it's about as "safe" as I want my coheed to be
