Crossing the Frame and Mother May I are honestly two of my favorites during my listens these days.

 

I need some time with this behemoth. “Inspired” encapsulates this moment with Coheed for me. Despite my bias, I think they are in a renaissance and the excitement is palpable. Vaxis I -> Vaxis II gels so well together. The Old flames really brings their work together. I normal despise this but I would love to hear more orchestral versions of their songs. Window of the Waking Mind brought me to tears.

Anyone else get the feeling that the vocal effect represents a dynamic in the story? It's used so often in about a 3rd of the album and so scarcely in the rest of it.

Also curious to see if that becomes a mainstay with future records or if it's a product of working during covid and working with this producer

 

So the only way to get the story for the album is to pay $129 for the book with the deluxe box set? They could at least release it as an ebook too, since the story is such a big part of the album.

A while back I kind of dunked on Jessie's Girl 2 by saying it should be swapped out of their setlist.

I just wanted to say that I now know I was wrong and I'm sorry. That song is great.

 

Would have loved that whole album of sequels

 

Was there talk of a whole album of sequels actually in the works?

 

I caved and listened to the poopy quality leak and I’m still blown away. I can’t wait to listen to a better quality version of this. Modern sounding Coheed just works.

 

Yep, I can dig around to find the interview later but it was an actual album idea to do sequels to 80s songs

 

Why do people keep calling this “modern” ? I’ve seen it mentioned a few times.

 

I think more focus on electronic elements and dedication to pop melodies. I think it stems from Claudio calling it “modern Coheed” in an interview early on, saying that he thinks the album might be divisive.
