haha yeah I mean, I'm happy to keep gushing about the album, but with so many people holding out I figured a side convo wasn't a big deal.

 

I always think about this post when Bandit is being a baller parent.

The hype is tempting but I think I will tryyyyy to hold out for better quality. Sounds like the album deserves it.

 

It really does

 

Listening to and loving this album as much as I do on 128kb as me EXCITED for lossless. I get to experience it twice!

 

Call me hypocritical, but I smile when coheed repurposes lyrics and melodies in songs/across albums - but it irks me when manchester did it.

 

Coheed have been doing it since the very beginning and all the albums that have callbacks exist in the same universe/story, so that makes sense.

On that topic, there is some guitar work in Ladders of Supremacy that is suspiciously similar to Domino and The Dark Sentencer. Kind of like how the main theme (think The Ring in Return, Keeping the Blade) was repurposed for the guitar solo in The Broken.

 

Hot damn. That Window of the Waking Mind heavy bridge/outro sounds like the background music if god sent you straight to hell, then was like 'oh shit, sorry! You're supposed to go to heaven!' and you float on right back up. Then you decide 'fuck it, I'm going back to hell!' and you skip merrily all the way back down.

 

That would be quite the journey. And quite the imagery you get.

 

Man I’m listening to TUC, and the songs are good, but it does feel like it takes forever to listen to. By the time you’ve listened all the way through Toys (4 songs), you’ve been for listening 20 minutes. You have 11 songs left. By contrast, 20 minutes into the new one gets you through the first 7 songs. Some people might think it’s an over correction, but it’s a welcome change of pace for me.

 

We just started watching this with our kid and I love it so much haha

 

My favorite band, not crazy about the first singles.

yeah this doesn't sound good to me. i agree that Vaxis 1 is too slowly paced but this seems also bad

I’ve been doing my discog run since Sunday and I finished Vaxis I tonight and I’m ecstatic to give the new one a listen again, just to tell you how I feel about it after listening to literally every other song they’ve released.

 

It walks among us!

 

As much as I like the first Vaxis I'm definitely looking forward to a faster paced record.

 

If you cut the last two tracks and nighttime walkers it’s a perfect record.

 

You couldn’t pay me to cut Old Flames and Lucky Stars

 

Night-Time Walkers is top 5 on the album.

 

I'd probably cut Black Sunday, Queen of the Dark, True Ugly and All on Fire.

It's probably one of those records though where everyone has different songs they'd cut and I'm sure there's people who wouldn't cut any haha.

 

Yeah it definitely is, haha. I love Black Sunday and Queen of the Dark.

I’d cut the title track, Toys (I catch a lot of heat for this one), True Ugly. I’m meh on Lucky Stars but it serves its purpose well enough.
